Really good question.

Even within our own Christian communities this age of accountability is unknown.

I take it to be the age that God commanded in the old testament.

When Moses came down from the mountain with the commandments and saw the people worshipping their old idols and ways from the egyptians they had just been freed from.

God said that all over the age of 21 would not enter the promised land, and then proceeded to have them wander the desert for 40 years until all over 21 had passed away.

There are very knowlegable pastors and teachers who believe that this age could be as high as 35-40. Although I do not know their reasoning behind this, except that they belive it could be a spiritual age, rather than simply a physical age. This would account for those that are mentally handicapped, so I can see some reasons behind their thoughts.

Basically, the bible tells us that there is an age of accountability, but does not tell us outright just what that age is.

If you are talking about the age of accountability, i think it varies person to person. If you are brought up in a christian home, and are taught about sin at a young age, like three or four, and can recognize the difference between good and bad actions, i think you are old enough to recognize that you need salvation.

On the other hand, if you are not brought up in a christian home, and have never been taught about sin and salvation, the day comes when you realize that when you do something that you know is bad, but do it anyways, it is a sin. Once you hit this point, your mind starts to wander and think about how you can be freed from this curse. In this case i would say eight or nine. No one really knows what the age of accountability is, but it is my belief that as soon as one can tell right from wrong, and can choose for them self what they are going to do is the age you NEED to be saved.

I hope this helps, God bless.

Different for every person. It is normally considered when they can understand the implications of their actions and make their own decisions. Some that may be 10 and others 13, 15, 20 or 50 and some may never be able to. Most average around 12 or 13 but is really something the parent should be able to tell best.

I think it depends on the individual and their ability to understand concepts and theories, but usually around the age of 12 or 13. unfortunately, kids taht age still tend to see things in black and white and feel it is their 'job' to ensure the rest of the world follows their opinions; hence, the young age of most of the muslim fundamentalist suicide bomber martyrs.

At the age of understanding. When they are fully aware of right and wrong. And in that case, the child may be nearly an adult when they finally comprehend.

i think you have a misconception... people aren't "responsible" for their salvation, God is... and people choose to have salvation by giving their lives to Jesus, so its whatever people choose to do, accept Christ and the Holy Spirit into their hearts, or not... but there's no age.. its what you believe, and you're never too young or old to believe.... God wants to you give him your life whenever you can!!!! its hard, but worth it.... trust me, may God bless you!!!

When ever they know what they are doing.
That should be the main decision in life.
We are required to read books all the time. why not read the bible.
