I am willing to let my girls start dating when they're 12 but only on a group date with a chaperon - sounds uncool maybe but at least they can have some fun time with the guy. (Moms, this may sound young but at least they won't be sneaking around my back... at least not as much...I hope.)
The next step would be a group or double date without a chaperon at age 14 - IF MY GIRLS PROVE TO BE RELIABLE AND RESPONSIBLE. Other wise they'll have to wait until 16.
If all goes well though I figure they can go on a one on one date by 17. Also, if my girls would like they can have their boyfriends over (at any age) to our house to visit or join us for a family outing.

16 is a good age to start dating in groups. Keep it light and get to know some one before you are exclusive. Keep in mind you need to date several different kinds of people before you decide to be exclusive with just one person. Every one comes from different backgrounds so you will want to find some one that is compatible with yours. Ideally, look for a friend first and get to know their values and beliefs.

Start dating when you feel responsible enough. 16 is good. No one is making you and no one is stopping you. Find a nice person and get to know them.

I believe that you shouldn`t start dating till you`re at least 15, have friendship ... but dating is different, even 15 is young but you got to start having your heart broken sometime.

Never, the opposite sex will just ruin your life. Seriously, everybody is different. There is no magical age. I do think 25 sounds about right though.

i wouldnt say its the age, id say its the maturity level and when you feel comfortable with dating. if you feel ready, then you definetly are, but if you are not yet comfortable and do not feel right about it then you are not ready and should wait untill you FEEL you are ready. a person should start dating when they are comfortbale with it and the other person.
