I mean really, where DOES all of the anger and hatred come from? Is it an ego thing? Is it a redneck thing? Is it a "standup for my manhood" thing? Is it a religious thing? Lack of information? Lack of education? Who CARES as long as they aren't hurting you or affecting your life? Why do I know people that want to "string that gay up" for no reason? I really want the REASON-please no smart *** comments...

People who hate homosexuals usually aren't all that secure in their own sexuality. That's why they feel so threatened by them.

I don't know because I am a straight man who doesn't hate but I have thought about it and I'll share a thought I've had ...

Let's assume that there were no more mens and womens rooms - just a single unisex public restroom at school, work, resteraunts etc. Now take the doors off the stalls. Now go to the bathroom and have a guy sitting next to you. You know the guy is straight. You feel unwillingly exposed? I suspect you feel like you never want to go to the bathroom in a public restroom again. Men's bathroom often have very few stalls - mostly they are made up of urinals.

There's a row of twelve urinals. You walk into the bathroom and you're the only one in there. You go to the urinal at the very end. Someone comes in behind you and comes over to the urinal next to you, smiles at you and pulls their equipment out... feel comfortable?

Is every gay person like this? Nope; not even close. Is every guy who would pull down his pants and sit on the toilet next to you (in a unisex bathroom kind of world) a threat? Nope. But you'd still hate it. Now what would happen if you couldn't tell the boys from the girls? Cause that's about what it's like.

Me? I don't care. I figure in 40 years I'll be glad if anyone thinks I'm cute so I'll take it all as a compliment and keep on moving on. But I think I can understand where some people are coming from.

Well the word says it all. A phobe is a fear. It's a fear disguised as hate. They're scared of it so they hate it. People will start with the whole "It's morally wrong! It's a sin! God hates it!" Well to me, everyone go ahead and live your lives with your own morals. I won't impose mines on you and you do the same. There are so many things that are "sins". You see sin in every corner. As a matter of fact we all are sinners. I won't cast a stone and neither should anyone else. And I don't think God hates. God is love. God is compassion. God is forgiveness. I will not be petty and reduce my self to being a judge of how others choose to live their lives. That is Gods work.

Take control of your own life and judge your own actions.

Well phobias are irrational, out of control fears. People are afraid of what is different and homosexuals are percieved as different ... I know a few and they're some of the most awesome people i know ... but it is seen as wrong in so many cultures just because it's different.

Because they are not that secure with their own sexuality and are either scared that people will think they are gay if they aren't a**holes to gay people or they are just jealous cause gay people have the balls to come out when they don't!!

I just get weirded out by guys that act like girls. I can tolerate girls who act like men, but even when they take it overboard, it gets annoying.

Gays who fit their gender and are just simply gay, I have the least complaints with. I guess that would mean I dislike people who really don't fit their socially assigned gender role.

I believe that it is really wrong to hate anyone. I don't agree with their choice of sexual preference because God doesn't. Men and women were designed to come together in marriage and to reproduce. And also, God doesn't hate them either He just hates the sin.

Some of the people who have posted believe that God does not hate. The Bible, His Word says that He hates sin. Sin is the reason He sent His Son Jesus, to die on the cross in order for God to forgive our sins. Jesus took our place so that we can be saved and go to Heaven if we believe in Jesus, accept Him as our personal Lord and Savior and follow His teachings. .

Well, I don't hate gay people or want to "string them up".

But I believe that homosexual behavior is morally wrong.

Best wishes and God bless.
