Kissing. It can be just plain kissing, or kissing with tongues, but when I learned the term, it meant ordinary kissing with lips.

It can also mean to be successful in something. If someone does well in the stock market, she might say "I made out like a bandit," meaning she got a lot of easy money.

It also means to be able to see something. "I can barely make out the outlines of the mountains on the horizon."

Also, to make out means that you made out. As in, I made out with that deal in the stock market. I got a lot of money from it. This isn't used very often, the common meaning is to engage in the act of kissing for a period of time. As in, when are you going to make out with your boy/girlfriend?

"Make out" means to make for the door...you're getting out very quickly! It's essentially an escape method.

An example of "make out" used in a sentence is:

"Because Henry's party was boring, my girlfriend and I decided to make out."
