Yes, not only that he was a Rabbi. In accordance to jewish law of the time (and still practiced today) the offspring of a family will follow the religious practice of the mother, not father. Also his appearance (looks) are not what is depicted in art or on crucifixes. In accordance to jewish law he would have short hair and NO facial hair it is forbidden for a rabbi to have such. Also in accordance to said laws, he would HAVE to be married by the age of 21. He lived to the age of 35? Hmmm was the wedding at Caanan his? probably.
