1200 miles divided by 30 miles per gallon equals 40 gallons. Multiply that by $3 to get a rough estimate: $120. Only use 30 mpg as an estimate if your car gets at least 34 mpg highway, since EPA estimates are based on 55 mph driving. Your real-world mileage will usually come in less than that.

about 40 gallons

in the U.S. these days, that would cost a little over $100 most places

of course, the true cost of your travel includes tire wear, break wear, oil change requirement, and overall car depreciation and wear

the U.S. IRS allows around 40 cents per mile these days for total driving cost

Approximately $140.00 depending upon average gas prices and stop-n-go driving conditions. 1200m/30mpg=40gal x 3.00per gal avg= 120.00 + 20.00 (unexpected factor)= $140.00.
