This is the internet. How would anyone know you are in the world expert on Whipples Disease. You could be a hospital janitor for all anyone knows.

It is about how you answer the question and the cited information that you provide. Are you keeping at the layman level or are you talking medspeak?

I understand exactly what you mean, I too am very knowledgeable about a specific area, but hardly ever get best answer...i chalk it up to others doing fast searches and getting the answers posted quickly.

Some add personality to their answer that amuses the questioner others have a cute avatar etc..I just simply tell myself that i can't win them all..even in my specialty.

If anybody should get best answer on Whipple's disease, you should because you deserve it.

Because this is a Stupid Upgrade version of a stupid chat room where idiots ask stupid questions, when you gave them the correct answer, they don't understand what you're talking about, 'cause they're stupids. It happened to me too. It's very rare finding a very good question from a serious person.

I just depends on the opinions of the Asker and the Voters. It isn't always in the exact answer you give, it's the WAY you answer. Sometimes people pick whatever plays to what they want to hear.

because "best" answer does not mean "right" answer

here "best" can mean the most entertaining
or the one that the asker most agrees with
or the one with the best grammer

"best" yahoo answer is a subjective opinion

that's why this is a game, with points, and funny rules

why do the "best" singers not become the most famous singers?

because performance art is about charisma, and luck, and character acting, etc...same here

good luck with the game

Sometimes the 'best answer' doesn't come from the 'world expert' ... either you think that the person who asked is an idiot or you feel humbled. Your call.

Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth and just want to hear what they want to hear. Or they just dont like reading long responses, or ones that seem know it all (not saying you are acting that way jsut they might infer it that way)

I have to agree with Crystal C. Sometimes people pick what they WANT to hear.

Because you aren't saying what people want to hear...sometimes they may not even understand your answer.
