I have an opinion about this. I have learned that homosexaual feelings are a normal, healthy part of sexual development. In overcoming those and moving in your maturity that it changes. It's how you determine your own place in society and become what you feel is most desirable and attract a mate.
Some people are more latent in this discovery, for whatever reason in their psychosexual development. They have a sexual attraction to their own gender. If you were to say there is nothing wrong with it, you have to admit by the same token there is nothing right with it, either. It leads to destruction of the species. I am not talking about AIDS, although it is a factor. I'm talking about not reproducing.
Man and woman were designed to be together and have offspring. That's mother nature's way. I believe that's why homosexuals are hated. Humans designed to pair off to propogate the species. If there is something unnatural, people percieve it as wrong and are inclined to hate those different than themselves.
Hate is never justified. I know some homosexuals that I admire very much. I don't believe that they are fulfilling their existance, and, for their own sakes, wish they could, but don't hate them.

Homosexuals are hated because many people are afraid that if they are nice to homosexuals, then that will make them a homosexual. They're not secure in their sexuality. Also, some people are repulsed by the thought of homosexuality, so they choose to hate them. But that's not a good excuse to hate the entire gay population. I personally think it's sick for someone to eat beef, but I don't hate meat-eaters.
Many people are just plain uncomfortable with homosexuality altogether, and do not want to see it becoming accepted by society. Some are downright disgusted with the mere thought of two men sharing a life together, and disguise that fear with something that somes off as a valid claim.

Hated by whom? do the haters count? ..I don't think so!
I love big muscular sexy gay guys as well as some of the little cute guys...I just like gay guys...don't ask me why I find them so hot, and gorgeous.
There's this big blond guy, blue eyes, tan and friendly smile who has been catching my eye lately..but I'm in a monogamous relationship so I won't be going there...I have my standards and I stick to them, no harm in looking. I very much enjoy the allegedly sinful part of homosexuality with my long -term partner, it's hot as well as cuddley and romantic.
I love to be an actively practising homosexual and intend to continue doing so, Christian closets aren't you furious!!!...don't get too jealous now, it'll only make you look uglier and you don't want that.
Lesbians can be a bit gruff and angry but there are a few I can get along with..though I must say not many...that's been my experience, little in common I guess apart from being queer.
Christians, don't lie and spread misinformation about homosexuals, that is an abomination and detestable...rather just shut up and make sure you don't commit any alleged sins yourself.

Exactly, even if one considers it morally wrong the gay man is the one who has to deal with the consequences, no reason to attack him verbally or otherwise. If one thinks its wrong, tell him using reason and do it peacefully, no need to hate the way many do.
You also said especially gay men, suggesting gay women aren't as hated, which is true. In fact, mention lesbianism and you often get cheers out of a room from the guys. If it is wrong, then it is wrong no matter the genders, if it is right then it is right no matter the genders and no man should be attacked.
Personally I think those who are attack gay men are afraid the gay men may be able to turn them gay and that fills them with fear. If you aren't gay, then you can't be turned gay, and if you are then it is time to accept it and quit attacking gayness.

Notice how you felt that you had to put that you aren't gay? That is why homosexuals are hated, or why anyone outside of the "norm" are disliked. People feel this need to classify things, when in reality nothing is really black and white. People also have a fear of things that are different. I'm not saying anything against you....just showing you an example of human nature.

People are ignorant and can't accept difference. I see nothing wrong with homosexuals, and it amazes me that people can be so hateful and judgemental. Especially those who scream it to the homosexual community that the are "damned" and will go to "hell". So what if they are. We are all guilty of some sin. I am inclined to think that even if someone is gay, they will be loved the same by God if they live their life to the fullest and are good people. What right do we have to judge them. I mean, I would think that the people throwing slurs at them and telling them that God will punish them are more likely to be punished for the hate they display. We are all people. Black, white, gay, straight; all of us deserve to be treated equally.

I think they are not hated for been a gay. In my community, we accept gay, but not their act.
Problem is, gay refused to repent fromt heir wrong, and insist that God accept them as they are, and claim that the Bible is not against their wrong practising.
To most Christian, homo are just like any other sins, and should be stop. When they push the point too far, of cause people will hate them.
Imagin, if someone failed maths, on question like 1 plus 1 is 3, and insist that they are wrong and the rest should change their concept to 1 plus 1 equal to 3, will you not get piss off?

Because there are some ignorant and brainwashed people out there who hate anyone who is a bit different from them.
And know what? The biggest Homophobic people are those who afraid of their own sexuality (in other words: gay guys who are too frightened to come out); "If I'll tell myself and the whole wide world how much I hate gays, they'll probably assume I'm a good heterosexual Christian, won't they?". The answer is no.

I am not sure that homosexuals are hated by all heterosexuals. I think that most of us heterosexuals are simply tired of hearing so much about homosexuals. It looks to me as though the homosexual population is looking for acceptance by the straight element of society. And that very fact, the fact that they are looking to be accepted as "normal" tells me they know that it is not normal, but a matter of choice, to be homosexual.
Frankly, I do not know how to recognize a homosexual; and I would not hate someone who chose to be that way. But I would get awfully tired of him telling me a hundred times a week that "he is just as normal as I am." And I sure would know he did not consider himself normal if he kept telling me he was!
I wish this whole business would go away; many of us heterosexuals could simply not care less; if someone chooses to be homosexual, that is their business. And I do not have to approve of what others choose.

I think people don't like the overt gay culture, men that 'mince' around and talk with a silly gay voice. If gays just kept their heads down and made less of a big deal about gayness there would be less trouble for them.
