If you clean them with Q-tips, and you're putting the swab into your ear canal, you could be compacting the wax and not realizing it. My 12 year old daughter managed to do this, and she tried to argue with me, telling me "but I clean my ears" when I told her that her ear was bothering her because it was congested (with wax). There's a reason the package tells you not to insert the swab into the canal. Even if you're cleaning your ears properly, it's still possible that you could have congestion either way although it might not be directly related to how you clean your ears. You should see the doctor to find out what's going on be on the safe side. If you feel it may be just wax, and you want to take care of it yourself, you can try Similasan Ear Wax Relief. It's what I'm using for my daughter. They sell it at Walmart and most drug stores.

Many people say that itchy ears mean that you might have parasites. Most people do. You can take some supplements like Wormwood that you buy online or at a health food store to get rid of them. Lots of information about it on this site. Here's a link, but some of the pictures are pretty gross...

You might have an ear infection. Just because you keep them clean doesn't mean they can't get infected. Depends on where exactly it itches. Make an app. with your doctor to make sure

Maybe you have allergies, or you could have an ear infection. (I had one a while ago and never felt any pain)
