Keep answering questions here. It keeps both hands busy.
At least, that's what I'm doing. :-)
Seriously, if you want food but are not hungry, do something to distract yourself. Set a timer for ten minutes. If you still want it in ten minutes, get some. But during that ten minutes, play with your cat or fold your clothes or something. Bet you'll forget the food!

well when i was younger i would just eat because that was the only thing there was to do. finally i learned that i wasn't doing what is best for my body so what i did instead i got up and went walking or i would just always carry around a pack of sugar free gum and every time i was bored i just stuck a piece of gum in my mouth.Being addicted to junk food is like being addicted to cigarettes.

Find other things that you enjoy doing when bored. Like go outside for a walk or a swim. Since junkfood is so easy to access, put a big bowl of your favorite fruit cut up and ready to eat in the fridge instead.

Think about this.
When you are tempted to eat junk food, ask your self,"am I hungry in my tummy or just in me throat?"
If it's your tummy eat a small portion, if not tell your self that you will wait for an hour, and then do it all over again.

first, get rid of the junk food. . . don't keep any around the house. Secondly, find a hobby that will help keep you busy and keep you from getting so bored. . If you still get "cravings" try fresh fruit . . . fresh strawberries and oranges, or even a home-made fruit smoothie with no sugar added will help take care of that sweet tooth.

Actually, I had the same problem.
It may sound dumb, but I wore a rubber band around my wrist, and I snapped it whenever I had the urge to eat junkfood. It was annoying at first, but soon my brain began to associate junkfood with pain. I stopped eating it as much.
Good luck.

It really is simple... don't buy them or have them in your house. I have the same problem... but if there is nothing around to tempt you than you can't eat it. You may get cranky but at least you won't be 400 pounds!

Hurt yourself every time you go to grab some food (ie, pinching, excersizes that are painful, stretches that are painful, spicy food, anything as long as it doesnt damage your body) This is called operative conditioning. If done every time, over about a month you will stop grabbing for food

Just don't eat them, empty out your kitchen and pantry. Put them in a box, and donate them or give them to someone. You'll get hungry, and you'll eat anything.
