The bible was put together from a hand full of scrolls from the hundreds that were discovered at the time. The vast majority are said to be at great variance with the ones chosen for the bible.
Sadly the other scrolls are locked up in a vault in the Vatican and not even religious scholars are allowed to see them!! Why not? You guessed dint- you? They totally disagree with the bible version of events. Until the Vatican open that vault, that is the only conclusion that can be drawn.
Jesus was supposed to have been a right pain and trouble to the Romans. Not one Roman document can be found that refers to him. At the same time as Jesus was supposed to have been around there were a number of other Jews claiming to be the son of god and saviour. Funnily there are good Roman records of all of them!

The earliest manuscripts of the New Testament were found at the most 70 A.D. which lend a lot of credence to them. However some scholars believer many were written with in a few years after Jesus crucifixion. If you compare that to documents we have of Alexander and information on him that wasn't recorded until a hundred years after he lived, and yet we accept the information of his life, but the fact that the Bible was written sooner after the events should lend even more credence to the Bible.
Not only that, but there are more manuscripts found of the New Testament. The second most manuscripts found of any document is Homer's Illyad. But it is thousands and thousands less than the Bible and yet we accept the Illyad just fine.
Food for thought

People think so because the Bible says so. However, they ignore the concept that trusting the Bible's answer would first require verification of the Bible's accuracy. However, the Bible is only verified by the Bible and this cycle repeats itself.
Basically people believe what they are taught.
(Just a side note: the Qu'ran also says that it's the word of God, but we don't believe that. Also, historical evidence suggests that parts of the Bible, such as "Let he who is w/o sin cast the first stone," were added by people copying the Bible.)

Because it is the Word of God. And the only one He gave. (there is also Creation, by which we can see there is a God, and that's enough to condemn someone to Hell (because they obviously have seen there is a God, and yet they refuse to acknowledge Him as God), but it isn't enough to save.
Only through His message of salvation in Scripture can one come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and thus have their sins forgiven, and go to Heaven for Eternity instead of Hell (the place where almost everyone else is going).
The Canon is closed. This is what the early church decided, and, of course, they were right. God's message to the world is complete. It is lacking in nothing. There is no new Scripture. God authenticated the men [New Testament authors] who wrote down Scripture by the use of signs and wonders (miracles). Once their authority was established - once it was established that their message was from God (by signs and wonders accompanying them - the Apostles), the signs and wonders died out, as God didn't need them any more to authenticate His messengers. The message was complete.
His final Word was Jesus. There is no new word needed. Scripture is complete by itself, and sufficient for all matters of life and godliness.

The Bible is an actual Historical book as well as a book atbout God. Take that away and you take away thousands of years of history.
It is the only book that actually deals with real issues and introduces you to a living a friendly God.
Read and see for yourself

Back in the day, if you didn't believe in the Bible and all that malarkey, they killed you!So yeah, I 'd say that's a pretty valid reason for wanting to just blindly agree to some book most peole have never read, cover to cover and what ever else the people with the lit torches and pitchforks said.

When people realize that Jesus is the WORD of God and not a book they will put their focus where it belongs totally on God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
I consider the bible the words of the WORD. It is His story.

most historians now conclude that the torah is actually a compilation of stories adapted from sumerian/babylonian sources. i dont think it is the word of G-d but i love the bible for two reasons: 1) because it has been my peoples cultural history for 3000 years and 2) because a book doesnt need to be the word of G-d to be a genuine, sincere, and meaningful way to connect with G-d.

Bible is FAKE. Sorry to say that but everyone is worshiping a man that has never walked this earth. It is kind of funny to think there is a bug man in the sky that created everthing. Nobody can prove this nonsence.
