as he could to use the small potty I bought for him. What are the pros and cons? I know I would need to get a special seat, anything else?

There is really no difference other then the small potties are easier for children that age to use but if you get him trained to his potty then after that happens tell him he's a big boy and it's time to use the big potty, also buy a small step stool so he can get on and off the toilet on his own.
Personally for me I never used the small potties. I let my girls go pick out one of the small seats that go on the toilet and they had a stool, so they could get on and off. For boys I've always heard to toss Cheerios or some other floating cereal in the toilet to give the boy something to aim at. I still have a couple more years before I get to try that trick with my son.
Good Luck

my best advice is your baby will use the big potty when ready just make sure the small one is within easy reach when our boys was big enough to stand at the toilet we just used the big one course we are still working on the potty training and my son will be 4 end of next month

My little ones? They both had someone to p.c.. up after them and now they go away each thing because it falls... i imagine my daughter is slightly more suitable useful. That pair have had each thing surpassed to them - more suitable foreign places journeys than i have had - and that i'm not particular they were executed a favour - both favor to get their priorities excellent and get their own houses rather of waiting on mum and dad to cark it...their grandparents lived to be almost one hundred on their mom's facet....

no, I'd stick with the little one. It's not that hard to keep cleaning it out.
