Try superglue. It bonds instantly. If that does not work get 80,000 cans of tuna in oil. Empty them in your bathtub. Now get in the tub and soak for 5 days. When you get out every cat within 10 miles will love you.

First let it ujust for about 1 or 2 days. Whenever you leave put it in a room along with the litter box and food. When you get back it will be bored of that room and being alone and come to you or just outside of the room. If you open the door and it runs out pet it while it's running. Try to sneak up on it and pet it. It should like you soon.

If it is a new cat, try to allow it time to get adjusted to all the new scents in your home, including you! After a few days of that, I would suggests leaving treats out for the cat. If you notice that certain treats are gone and others aren't .. or maybe all of them are gone, you'll know which treats your cat likes. Try placing a treat in the same room as you are in. Then the next day try placing it closer to you. Keep this up until you are the one giving the treat to the cat. You may be able to pet him/her at the point. Cats need trust and some take longer to build that trust. I wish you luck!

Talk to it "normally" - much like you'd talk to another human being.
Feed it - just put the food down and walk away.
Make sure it always has water.
Give it catnip.
Invite it to sit on your lap (or next to you) when you're (say) watching TV. (Just a few times in one sitting.)
Don't chase it around pleading for its attention.
Don't (unnecessarily) yell at it or scare it.
It, most likely, just needs to know it can trust you and be near you without getting hurt. Chances are it was not picked up much as a kitten, so it's not familiar with the affection, if you got it as a kitten; if you got it as an adult, same thing or, perhaps it was abused; if you took it to a vet, and it liked you before, it may never forgive you & probably things you'll do it again.
In any case, except the vet situation, it takes time for a cat to trust you... Sometimes, very long.

You get low on the ground and talk to it sweetly. Do this everyday for about two weeks. Bring foods such as milk and chopped up easy to chew meat so the cat will know you are friendly enough to bring it food. When it finally does come up to you, slowly grab it and gently hold it. Dont squeeze it. Stroke it softly and if you don't feel or hear it purring after a while, let it go and try again another day.
Good luck- I had the same problem!

Depends on how long you've had the cat. If you've had it for years and it doesn't like you by now...**** it never will....give up...
But...if you've just gotten it...give it time, patience, plenty of love and yummies. Pretty much everyone here to told you to make sure it's got somewhere comfy to sleep, plenty of food, water and affection is right. Once the cat figures you out..they'll bond with you...and you'll be like I am now...trying to type around a cat loving up the keyboard....lol...

Find out what food it likes best and offer that food to it. Catnip toys are also a good idea. Be patient, though, as cats are very indepentdant and creatures of habit, it can take quite awhile for a cat to get used to something..or in this case someone else.

Let the cat come to you. Some cats also just don't like certain people - my cat is sort of like a german shepard in that he prefers me to everybody else - but he comes to others for attention when he feels like it. Give it time.

Try leaving it be for awhile. Cats often only want attention when they want it, but they do like it. Simply ignore it for a few days unless it comes to you, then try bribing it with a treat and a brief petting.
