I am the right person to ask!

Poo has been changed throughout the course of history to contain many various smells.

In ancient Rome, poo smelled more like blue-berries with a slight hint of olive oil. This form of poo was declared invalid because it created a large interest in the @ss creating a society of gay men.

In the Middle Ages, poo smelled like rotting bat flesh with a slight tinge of sulfur. This created what we now call , "the Dark Ages" because the poo dispersed sulfuric ash into the sky blocking the sun's light. People decided this too was bad.

Today, we tried to blend both forms of poo into one. Not all people have complied with this idea though. Some people like the Ancient poo (these people think their sh!t does not stink) while others are still in the dark age of poo. You can recognize these people easily. They are the ones who smell so bad that they are banned from defecating in public areas.

I would go into more detail ... but I have to take a dump. Excuse me ...

The bacteria inside of the feces is what makes them smell so bad. Specifically, the bacteria produce various compounds and gases that lead to the infamous smell of feces. Just in case you were wondering, you can get very sick by eating feces because it contains so many types of bacteria and other harmful substances such as parasites. So I wouldn't suggest adding poop to your diet any time soon.

Poop will vary in smell depending on the type of foods and drinks that you consume. Generally speaking, feces will smell worse if you consume foods or liquids with many artificial flavors or chemicals in them. The bad smell of feces will usually be reduced by eating more natural foods that do not contain any artificial flavors or chemicals. Also, the poop of meat eaters usually smells worse than that of vegans.

We have a lot of bacteria in our digestive tract, to help break up the food we eat. A lot of these bacteria emit some rather unpleasant odors as well. Feces contains a lot of these (mostly dead) bacteria so that's where the smell comes from. The smell of flatulence is from those same bacteria.

well the reason poo smells is, when you digest your food it takes all the good stuff and then it leaves with the bad stuff that wont be digested and it smells cause it has stayed in your digestion system and its dead cells and things like that and that is why it smells

It's the breakdown of organic material into Methane and Ammonia.

Smell a pile of cut grass after a couple of days, it'll be the same thing.

as i learned in massge therapy, you are lucky it does smell. if it smells it is letting out the bacteria in your body. if it doesn't smell then your body is holding in the bacteria in your body. as well as gas. same answer. i also found out that if you poop sinks its good if it floats its not. because your body is letting go of bacteria that shouldn't be there. when it floats your body is becoming ill from the bacteria. hope i answered your question to what you wanted

It is waste - and anything that is not used begins to decompose. And decomposition smells. I think that we may have a bad reaction to it to keep us from consuming it .
