I'm more concerned about the Fundy Christian zealot wackos that have far too much influence in our government. no "born again" leader or group that desires the rapture driven end of the world scenario should be in control of the of the US military. WW3 can be too easily justified in the "name of the Lord".

First off: If I were you, I wouldn't get the bulk of my information off of blogs and editorials, if you're looking for objective sources of news and information -- they are, at best, biased, and at worst, intentionally inflammatory against one group or another with whom the author(s) have a specific beef.

Secondly, while there are some problems with some Muslim communities who do not integrate as well into European cities, the vast majority of Muslims around the world are just people trying to make a living and raise their families. The Koran does NOT say that rape and pedophilia is OK, nor does it condone murder. And if you actually READ the Koran, you'd know that a jihad is a holy war meant to protect the innocent against oppression, not a genocidal war against non-believers. The Koran gives specific rules about when and how a jihad is considered an appropriate response -- if anything, there's a lot more of the "turn the other cheek" message in there.

And if you think the Christian world is so much better, you've obviously not read Deuterotomy in a while -- LOTS of stuff in there about the Chosen People going out and killing anyone not part of the "in" crowd, slaying men, women and children and taking their lands and livestock as your own. Oh, yeah, and God commands this; it's not just some guy's idea, but is actually an order from on high.

Bottom line: whatever your religion, if you use it to achieve a higher understanding if your own spirituality (in other words, you participate in religion for its intended purpose), you won't go off and kill people who don't agree with you. If you use it as justification for doing whatever you feel like, you are nothing but a killer and criminal using religion as a shield to hide your true intentions. The terrorists are using their fundamentalist beliefs to justify killing innocent people, and our own intolerance of a religion we don't understand leads us to make ludicrous statements like the ones in the articles you offer as evidence of Islam's pervasive evil. Take a look at what Pat Robertson has to say about world events and tell me he's objective and rational...

I can point out scriptures in the Bible that allow disgusting things too like genocide, incest, lying and good old fashioned murder. The god the Muslims worship is the same one the Hebrews do and the Christians as well. Islam accepts the history of the Hebrew scriptures and claim the same forefather as the Jews, Abraham. The god of the Hebrew scriptures and the god of the Koran act the same way.

I'm worried about any religion infiltrating into government and into legislation.

Maybe the Islamic world is infiltrating the Western world because the Western world is infiltrating the Islamic world. This planet is very small. We're running out of space. There's no more room to be separated by the sea or even to be separated by foolish ideas. If this keeps up soon your neighbor will be at war with you, literally. Personally yes, every section of the world where Islam is prevelant....is a site of degredation.

Ghana, Africa is a perfect example.

Southern Ghana where there's no Islamic influence, is lush is food production, economics, and so forth. Also, it's lacking in conflict between it's peoples.

Northern Ghana is affluent in Islamic followers : it's war-ravaged, economically decimated, and just a mess overall.

It's a damnable shame, that religion is blamphemous and rancid.

Besides the obvious "according to Islam" stuff.. you seem to think that Islam is... where? The largest islamic nations are in the pan-ocean nations, europe, africa. By "western world" did you maybe mean America?

Also, no other nation welcomes everybody and their bastard cousin to come over and live permanantly. WE are the only suckers that allow that.
