I turn 14 tomorrow and my parents are shaky about letting me date. All my friends are allowed to and everything. Am i old enough to date?! I think so but apparently they aren't willing to let me. Im the only one who can't.

I think you should do whatever your parents think is best for you.
You don't have to do what everyone else is doing, be unique!

I had the same sort of problem. You can't make your parents' choice, but if you prove to them that you're responsible and you can handle a boyfriend, that should help them say yes. Don't be too forceful about it and don't act like it's the most important thing to the world because chances are, that's exactly what they don't want (for your boyfriend to be your top priority) good luck and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Respect the opinion of your parents as they only want what is best for you. Don't be too concerned about your peers being able to date as they are too young too. Your parents are right.

I didn't go out till I was 18, and I would never let my kids go out at 14.

well your parents are wiser than you..sorry to say that but soon enough when you get older you'll be making your own decisions...and there is really no rush to date..good things will come your wayy!!
