As many people have said, there's no law against it. I take your question to be 'will you have trouble from society if you go out dressed'. Well, that depends on where you live...rural communities and serious bible-belt communities would probably give you a lot of grief, unless you pass very well. Larger city communities, and usually points more west (ala LA or San Fran) would be more accepting.
Personally, I think if you are ready to deal with somebody 'reading' you, then you should. If you are only looking to do it if you can pass, ask a dear friend to be frank with you and help you perfect your look before trying. Oh, and taking a friend is a good idea.

Hey this is the good ol USA! You can do what ever you want. If you want to go out dressed like a woman, then so be it...but remember this...like I said this is the good ol USA, and you may and probaly will get ridiculed by some people who are offended by such an act.

ummmmmmm ya you can go out in a girls dress.just make sure you take a friend in case you get into some trouble.with someone who might not like you.good luck

its a free country wear whatever u want!!!! but dont go for dresses or skirts that come above the knee (not flattering for any guys unless you have skinny legs, then it would work) and have fun with whatever u want!!!
