That's like the 95 percentile for her weight. It is on the high side, but she doesn't sound like a lil tub either. My oldest was always on the high side for height and weight (she was solid, not fat) and at 14 she still is "thick" but she sure looks good in her clothes. I'd only worry if your daughter is having trouble breathing or moving when doing activities or you see any other problems. If your doctor isn't concerned, then she's probably okay. Some kids are tiny little things, some are really big. Don't consider the weight/height, consider her overall health. You see her every day, so you'd see if there were potential issues.

My son is 8 1/2 years old, is almost 80 pounds and is 4'6" tall. He doesn't have any fat on him at all, he's long and lean.

I think it all depends on a child's body type and if the doctor isn't concerned then I wouldn't be either.

Does she get enough exercise? eat good food? get enough rest? If yes to all of these then don't worry about it. Society today is too caught up on weight, let her be a kid. The last thing you want is your daughter to think that she is fat and wanting to go on a diet.

Your doctor is your only source on this one. If he/she says no, then it's no. Don't waste your time stressing on nothing and don't give your child any type of body phobia. There are enough important things in life to worry about, she doesn't need an eating disorder on top of it. Don't ever say anything to her about her weight because it will NEVER be forgotten. It will always be in the back of her mind. Unless it's health threatening, LAY OFF.
