Sure... if you dont get caught.
All products made in Cuba are illegal for importing into the US.
Although you can import it if you are returning directly from Cuba and your visit to Cuba was licensed.
Customs officers do random searches... if you're the lucky one they select, and they find Cuban Cigars on you, you'll have them confiscated, fined up to $50,000 and/or jail.
Even if you take off the bands and they cannot prove it... Customs officials WON'T give you the benefit of doubt... its up to you to prove that they arent Cubans.
Good Luck!

Only if you do not get caught.
There is a "limit" its ZERO. All products made in Cuba, including cigars, are banned from import.
If the customs officer decides to search you, and they have reason to suspect the cigars are Cuban...even if the bands are removed and they cannot prove it...the cigars can be confiscated. The burden is on you to show they are NOT Cuban cigars.
Interestingly, once the cigars are here, it is not illegal to smoke them. Its just illegal to import them.

We purchased two boxes in the duty-free store at the airport on the way home. People in the store said we can bring in 2 small boxes without any problem. Total of 6 cigars. We did that we declared it no one cut them up we had the receipt from the duty-free store and all went well. This was a year and a half ago.

legally...you cannot bring ANY cuban cigars into the us. period. BUT...it happens. its ridiculously easy to do across the texas-mexico border. all cigar stores in mexico carry cubans and very very rarely do customs officials check your bags close enough to find a couple of cubans. not that ive done that or advocate illegal activities.

I think you can but there is a limit and you MUST let customs know what you have. I was in the Bahamas and purchased one. But they had to be smoked or disgaurded before we returned to the states. You can be fined up to $500.00 a cig! Look up on the net about 'cigar tours' to Cuba.
