have any of you broken up the relationship because of backlash from other people,or did the backlash draw the two of you together? Please elaborate. This question is for anyone who's ever dated interracially. For the record,I've never done it.

First off,you say "youve never done it"....like its a damn crime. Well, its not, I've dated outside my race many times and the only people that really say anything is the ignorant ones or jealous ones. You learn to ignore what everyone is saying, it doesn't make you want to break up with the person over it. It's like TI says, "All your hatin is fuel to ma fire"

Backlash? Really, I think that if there are friends who react negatively to your dating outside your race... perhaps they aren't the best friends? In this day and age, should that really even be a concern? Do what makes you happy!

...years ago there is one guy from India who was in love with me and wanted me to marry him...he introduced me to his family and there were no problems...however, MY family and friends had issues with him being Hindu. At the time I didn't know much about Indian culture. They said "Indian men don't have any respect for American women, especially black-American women." Eventhough he treated me very well and was VERY romatic; silly me, listened to them and STOPPED seeing him and never told him why. Now I am sorry because I really miss him so much and I have learned more about his culture. I hope that I will meet someone as sweet as him again--next time I won't be influenced by the closed-minded ignorance of others.

first of all race should never matter unless you are just childish
second yes I have dated out side of my race and no the backlash never got in my way because the relationship is between me and him not every one else and just to say one more time COLOR DOES NOT MATTER OUR BLOOD IS STILL THE SAME COLOR AND GOD MADE ALL OF US WE ARE ALL THE SAME NO MISTAKES WERE MADE
GOOD LUCK TO YOU

I tried dating a Vietnamese girl in college, but she was so afraid of her brothers and father because I was white....they even threatened to kill her if we had sex...I was also a bit nervous about pursuing the relationship, so we broke up...Never again will I date a Vietnamese.

i always do and my motto is," Heres to those who wish us well, and all the rest can go to hell!" Its your life not theres so whatever makes you happy and your man happy should be your only concern..true freinds wont stand in the way of your happiness and if they try,you need to look at that "freindship" a little closer,,good luck
