I'm a guy and a little over a month ago I got a female roomate. When she moved in it was only the second time I ever met her. She makes herself at home and seems very comfortable. The thing is we neither one talk much to each other usually just hi or by just small talk. We both act the same toward each other. Why can't we just talk like normal people, What is the poblem?

maybe she's trying to keep her distance from ya, thinking if she gets too friendly, ya might come on to her...Maybe you could set some ground rules about dating, etc...Have you asked her what her expectations are?

Maybe she scared to open up to anyone. Since she could been hurt to many time in the past. So thats why she don't want to open up to u. But u could ask her something like why she don't talk u little here and there to see if that would work. or write her a letter to see that would help things out.

she may be shy,or doesn't know how to start a conversation with you, maybe she's afraid if she lets you get to know her you'll expect something from her.
