Being kinky is not as sexual as being freaky....kinky can just mean putting whipped cream on your partners chest and licking it. But being freaky can mean you handcuffed your partner buck naked and made a sundae out of their body while you watch a third person lick it off and you watch then join...

If I may add my two cents here, as someone who has kinda been around some of the "adult" Yahoo groups and clubs (yes! I've been around that long, *lol*)...
Kinky simply means you are compatible *with* doing odd, curious or deviant things in bed, all in the name of good clean fun. You don't need the whips and chains but understand that to a degree it *can* be a good time. It can also mean a certain degree of reserve or conservatism as regards what you think "kinky" is, in that you're more likely *to* think of "whips and chains" when you think of Kinky, or you are more likely to *think* the movie _9 1/2 Weeks_ is both sexy (which it still is!) and avant-garde (sorry, it's been out over a decade, ok?).
Freaky, on the other hand, is broadly construed to mean much the same thing "fetish" does: someone has a compulsion going on here, and really doesn't find "mundane* or "normal" sexuality attractive in the slightest. For most Freaky People (tm), mainstream porn is sexy only in the *abstract*, or paint-by-numbers fashion. As in, if someone *needs* to at least see some foot-action or some high heels going on to *be there* emotionally and to be engaged, then yeah, they might be "freaky". And Freaky People may (or may not) have more of an understanding of what is going on *currently* as regards the Cutting Edge of The Kinky (tm), (or they may just be total geeks and dorks about their own little corner of things, mea culpa).
Hope this helps...

Kinky is making love and using a feather for fun. Freaky is using the whole chicken.

Kinky is fun in the bed, freaky is always acting odd...I like kinky, not so much freaky.

It's personal decision, but one thing is for certain; if it's done by a cute guy or chick it is much less likely to be labeled 'freaky'.
