Your illness is a tough one to treat, but it can be done. As you know, part of the nature of the illness is that after being on a medication that is effective in treating your symptoms, you'll often convince yourself that the medications were your only problem! So, you'll adjust it yourself or stop taking the one's you consider unhelpful. When you feel like doing this TALK IT OVER WITH YOUR DOCTOR!
You are having trouble admitting to yourself that you were addicted to the Klonopin. If you have trouble communicating with your doctor, seek another one that you can be more comfortable with talking to about your issues. Overmedicating yourself got you negative attention and a suspicion of drug abuse. As doctor Phil would ask, "How's that working out for you? " Not too good, right? Bipolar manic depressives are difficult to treat because the mind is confused. I suggest more therapy, prayer and a good support group. I know you are suffering, but your doctor was right.
Stay on your prescribed medications, and take it in the doses recommended. Keep a journal of any side effects to discuss with your doctor. They may be normal for the medication and the benefits may out weigh them, the two of you should decide together.
The hardest thing in the world for you will always be knowing what is real and what your head is cooking up in a manic phase. The most normalcy you can hope for will be that which can be obtained through ongoing therapy and following your prescribed medication schedule. My heart goes out to you. TRY to listen to your doctor. I said a prayer for you. God answers my prayers.

By your own admission honey you took a "few too many" to get attention, which is proof they weren't working in the first place. I'm sorry but your doctor will never put you back on Klonopin, and besides it is highly addictive and you are better without them. Please don't feel that I'm judging you, I'm not, just trying to give an honest answer, even if it won't be easy to hear. God Bless you and I mean that.

I don't think that were the wright medication for you if you needed attention...i had a doctor that offered me a medication for depression because i had a problem with sleeping...(had exams and i was so nervous that i couldn't sleep) and in stead of making me better those pills made me a walking zombie...try to consider what is more important: your life or those pills...you can deal it without the help of Klonopins...just try!

Do you take vitamins and do you drink alot of water, answer these questions and if not get on a good multi and drink lots of water. Many experts believe that if these two things are done, many of the people with mental problems will have some success in regaining normalcy.

There is no "magic pill" for bipolar or anxiety. We bipolars want everything NOW!!! Klonipin justs masks the problem, and creates a new one, ADDICTION. I am speaking in this by experience. You may hate your doctor now, but s/he is really doing you a favor. Ask about mood stabilizers...Good luck

Try kidnapping his gold fish, threatening to return them as fish paste if he doesn't return you to your original medication.

And the excitement caused by merely planning should kick you out of your depresssion. so you won't need drugs to be happy and you' d also realise thaa you don't need a shrink.

And the money you save from that you could go to med school and wirte your own prescriptions when needed:))

Try another shrink or ask him for a better alternative to what you're taking now if he doesn't want you on them.He is a doctor. He probably know's what he's doing. They normally don't put people on drugs they have abused or not taken properly.

You should accept that it was not the perfect med for you and follow your doc's advice, if you are otherwise happy with him. Otherwise, you may seek a second opinion.

By the way, do you think that your picture here can be replaced with a more sober one?

Best wishes!
