In the case you describe, the 18 year old should get in trouble. There are almost no 14 year olds that look 18. There is a big difference in development, both physically and mentally.

Slimy guys are the ones that take the "I'm 18" line at face value from a girl who looks too young.

By law it's the guy.
But she's the one that lied. And should be charged up for making him believe that she was an older age. And on the other hand if she was 14. He should be smart ebough to see whether she is over 18. But now adays we have kids that look 5-6 years older than they really are. Becasue theyve been eating their wheaties i guess...Hahahah

So it's kinda hard to tell..But they guy may know how old she is.But doesn care because he doesn't think he'll get caught. If i was him i'd check ID first. Just to be causious. Girls lie about their age all the time. better safe than sorry!

I can look at a person and know their age without telling them anything. When people look at it. They think that the guy is at fault. And others think the girl is at fault for lying to him and got him into trouble. But in reality it's both of their faults. It's stupid. The law doesn't make any expeptions here. That's what sucks!

Both people should get in trouble, the girl who lies about her age, and the older guy for participating in the deceit. If an innappropriate sexual contact takes place, the law will generally go after the older (adult or more adult) person in the situation. I am sorry to say parental control and self-respect is getting worse and worse as time goes by. If I had teenage children, they would not be on a computer; in chat rooms, on my space or where ever else...It is dangerous. Parents need to be parents first and 14 year old girls wouldn't be acting this way!!! Guys need to be really careful also...you do not want your life ruined by a fling with a minor. One of my friends sons went through this when he was younger, and ended up doing time in jail because of it. He was 17, the girl was 15 and he got charged as an adult!!!!! He survived the time in jail, but he gave up 5 years of his life, survived a lot of horrors in jail...he is in his early thirties now and cannot talk about things that happened there to this day. He has had a difficult time finding jobs, as he has to fill out yes next to the part about being a convicted felon on any job applications. Do not let this happen to you, believe me if you are 18, you have many, many decades of life to live, and many adult women to have relationships with. I am so glad my children are grown and both happily married. I am blessed every day. Good luck to you and be smart and safe!!!

While you may assume it's the girl but that is not how the law works, sexual relations with a girl or boy under age is a strict liability offense thus the person who fools around with an underage person is guilty by facts alone does not matter what the person intent was the act alone is enough to put you away even if the girl/boy lied about their age

The guy should. The 14 year old lacks maturity and has alot of growing up to do. Guys should think things thru with their big head first and not just act on the impulse of their little head.

The guy. There's not a law against lying about your age. We need to protect ourselves & quit trying to sleep with females they don't know enough about. Take the time. It's better than being labeled as a sex offender the rest of your life.

The law says the man is in trouble for having sex with an underage girl no matter what she tells him.

The man must make efforts to find our her real age.

There is NO DEFENSE to statutory rape. (same goes for older women as well)

id say the girl if they didn't see each other because a 14 yo girl nowadays knows as much sex talk as a 30 yo women its a shame they know so much and be so young ..but of course if the guys knows shes to young i say jail him for being a sex fiend and her for the same throw both in jail and see how they like it for being perverts

The guy because that is what you get when you go look for little girls on Myspace. The perv shouldn't be talking to her in the first place.
