I'm 15, and i play golf often. My irons are getting pretty beat up because i use them so much. I was wondering what type of irons i should get for a new set. I like a heavier iron, and im thinkin about Nike slingshots whats the best model? The OSS tour or regular. Let me know if you have any other suggestions on irons. I would like to have some forgiveness but im at the point where I am trying to shape my shots. Thanks

If you are wanting to start shaping your shots, DON'T GET SLINGSHOTS!! They are game improvement irons (oversized), and are very difficult to shape because of the bulky head. I would reccomend callaway X Tour irons. They have a small profile, and are used by tour players. As said Superman, the NDS is a good choice.

k, i have nike slingshots. The thing with them is that if you are looking for a bigger iron rather than a blade, get them. The oss are curvy and the are a little chunky. They are almost like the fusions, yet the fusions have enough room to equally divide the weight throughout the club. If ;you are looking for a blade iron, go with taylor made rac's or nike nds.

My recommendation are the Ping I5s (http://pinggolf.com/irons_i5.html). They are a nice "middle of the road" set of irons between the S59s and the G5s. They'll allow you to shape shots but at the same allow you to work on your consistency. They'll also last you forever because they are Ping or at least until you are a solid enough ball striker to trade up to blades. Best of luck with your search, and as I tell everyone who asks about "which club to buy," go to the pro shop and hit them all. It doesn't matter how much they cost or what name is on the sole, if you can hit them consistent they are for you!!

You might fing the Slingshots a little light. You could go for the Combo's but better still, if you can get someone to put up the money go for Calloway Fusions. They are beautiful, forgiving and enhance your swing. Well worth the money if you can get a good discount.
