I have three...

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live. - Norman Cousins

That government is best which governs least. - Thomas Paine

You can live to be a hundred if you give up all the things that make you want to live to be a hundred. - Woody Allen

It changes often as there are so many great writers and philosophers in the history of the world, there are too many to quote here... but since I have used it twice today already, I'm going to go with this one for now...

"Any experiment of interest in life, will be carried out at your own expense." Sir John Wilmot.

And I like the whole prologue in the beginning of the movie "The Libertine." With Johnny Depp where he says "I do not want you to like me." I love the entire speech... It is me to a T. I would have ravished that man had I lived in that time and in his space. He would have met his match in me!

But I have to say... I also love this, it has been one of my favorites for a long time...

" O indigence at the root of our lives, how poor is the language of happiness! Everything's happened before and will happen again but still, the moment of each meeting is sweet."

From: Trista. By: Osip Mandelshtam.

Sorry, I had to put more than one thing! Here are some of my favorites (quotations and sayings):

"If you can't have what you love, you must love what you have." -Quote by Anonymous

"Knowledge is Power." -Quote by Oprah Winfrey

"Sometimes silence is the best answer." Quote by ??? (not sure)

"Every cloud has a silver lining." Nice saying that keeps me positive!

And, considering that these are the only ones I can remember right now, that means they must truly be my favorites! ;)

Khalil Gibran in "The Prophet" , on marriage:
The mighty oaks do not grow in one another's shadow, and the pillars of the temple do stand apart.
It's a tie with "Actions speak louder than words", and "There's no substitute for class"
