Take two god fearing men who are equal in the eyes of the lord. They both live in the same town. They both have a stong unselfish prayer. Yet the prayers are in exact opposite of the other. If either one is granted the results of the other would be a dissaster. It niether is granted, the same result. What does this say about God and prayer?

You seem to be laboring under the assumption that prayer is all about asking Jesus for something tangible. Prayer is meant to honor Jesus, respect Jesus, and demonstrate your faith.
Perhaps if you are praying for him to grant you gifts and wishes and material goods then you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, and you question your own faith.

1 John 5:14-15 says "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him."
Our prayers have to be within the will of God, those are the ones that are answered. If either man has an unselfish prayer, how would the end result of the other be a disaster? I don't see how this is possible. The Bible also says in Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

All prayer is to be made to God, for God's will to be done. Not for how we want it to be done. In the example you give both are praying incorrectly. dispite the claim that they are "unselfish". No matter the situation, if the prayer is for God's will then it may be added what the feelings are of the one praying...but, for those Praying by True Christian Faith, NO request would ever be made that would bring "dissaster" upon another....period.

God makes the choice to answer anybodys prayer. When a prayer is answered or unanswered, its always for the best.

you know, "prayer" is a funny(not haha funny) topic. what do most people do when they pray? ask the higher powers for things, right?
and usualy when they pray, they usually have a line in their prayer saying something to the effect of "i PRAISE you". well, if someone is "praising" someone else, you dont ask for things, like money, a new car etc.
when you PRAISE, you offer up gratitude and thanks. i am by no means an atheist, but i am very spiritual. i knew this one lady one time, she kept saying "i'm praying and asking the lord for $1000.00" kept on and kept on with it. well, the fact of the matter is, she got her $1000.00, but she sure didnt get it from the lord. she won it in a casino. when the pastor asked her how she got it(a very religious "christian" lady, replied, "the lord told me to go to the casino and he would make sure i won my $1000.00".
ok, so now the lord is telling people to gamble? the funniest thing about this story, the pastor was ready to give her $1000.00 from the church(probably to shut her up), and he told her, that since she had gone to "an evil house of the devil" and gambled and satan made sure she got the money she needed, and not the lord, that he was going to put the $1000.00 back into the general finanace fund for someone that truly needed it.
she was apparently so embarrassed that she never went back to that church again.
so, something to think about when praying, the purpose of prayer is not to ask for things but prayer is for "PRAISE"

The prayer that gets answered will be in the will of God, not against His will.

if they're prayers are opposite each other, only one's prayers would be in line with the Word of God, which are the only prayers that get answering. since God's Word never contradicts itself, only one of them (if they are indeed praying opposing wills) would see their prayer answered.

This can not be possible, because if the men are praying against one another they are praying for their own will and not God's. Jesus teaches us that when we pray we shoud pray for God's will to be done and if it is God's will, it will be the best for all.

All our prayers are answered even if it's not the way we want them to be answered.
