Two years old for my son. It's all sugar so I waited until he was able to drink and enjoy water and think of juice as a treat. Now, he eats fruit instead of drinking juice all the time.

you can start giving them juice at 6 months, but no more then 4 ounces a day (I always watered it down as well). Make sure it is 100% juice too. I would highly recommend offering it in a sippy cup and not a bottle. If you never put it in a bottle, they don't get used to having "drinks" in a bottle and it will make it easier to tranisition to a sippy cup fully when they turn one. If they don't drink anything the first 100 times you offer, it won't hurt them to not have it. Just be consistent and stick with it and sooner or later, they will use the cup and you won't have the bottle battle later on. Good luck!

Our doctor suggested staying away from juice for awhile (our son is 11 months) since they really don't need the extra sugar. She advised to stick with water. She also suggested that when we do give juice to water it down.

Babies don't need juice, either give him water or milk.

Juice is full of sugar and even if you give him the unsweetened juice it's better to just give him the fruit, he will get far more nutrition from it.

I just asked my dr. that same question and she said you don't have to give them juice at all really. It might be good for constipation though. 6 months is when I started giving it to my son.

I was told to water it down until they are older. Also, a lot of that juice has too much sugar in it, even if they do say it's natural.

Give it to your son, as a drink at times, and see if his body can take it. Just remember, if you get thirsty, so does a baby, not just for his formula
