There are many good things about religions, but too many murders have been committed throughout the history in its name as people believes in the superiority of their own. But, even the most popular religions require blind faith, which makes it a very personal experience, and it can't be forced upon someone by threat of death. And if it wasn't to threaten to convert, then it's for annihilation of members of the other faith.

Yet, you look into any religion, there are too many contridictions within its own teaching. Look into the Bible, for example, and a well versed person can find something from it to defend any case, which is the reason why people can use to glorify their actions however immoral.

Also, the scripts are too open to interpretation. THis is another reason that people have used to for centuries to justify what they want to do and that so many factions have evolved out of a single book, which further causes hate and violence against one another to submit others into believing their's is the only true religion.

To sum it all up, I don't think people of any religion are in it for the true faith but rather for what it can do for them. While that is just following the normal course of human nature, when it adds to one of the many reasons that people cannot get along, I don't believe it's entirely unreasonable to say that die-hart religious practices work against the human race and progress and one has the right to be agnostic or even be an atheist.

I do not believe in any religion that has historically been used as an excuse to wage war, to opress the masses, to hate any group (gays, pro-choice folk, pre-marital sex participants) The funniest part is you all primarily read the King James version. Written by pedophiles and homosexuals. Hmmm can you say hypoctrisy? Just look at what you practice compared to what you preach I hear "love your neighbor" and in the same breath "anyone who is gay, pro-choice, or has sex is bad and I will not interact with them"

I am sorry to say, but your religion is a joke. Splintered into hundreds of sub-groups that bastardize the bible to suit their needs. Heck, the Anglican church was created solely so the King who started it could get a divorce. Christianity is oppressive, opportunistic, and hypocritical. I prefer to be good to people regardless of personal beliefs, have fun with life, and follow society and moral rules because I should. Not because I am afraid of some mystical boogeyman who will punish me. That just signifies that christianity is for the weak minded who cannot control themselves without being threatened and told what to do.

OK for starters I take it you are Christian. That's fine but I won't spare you or your religion .

I dislike Christianity because
1) I think that all Christians are massive hypocrites, the Christians in the old days used deceit to trick all the Pagans into becoming Christians, then the new religion that claimed that killing was a sin said " oh no, not all those god forsaken pagans are christian, we better portray them as evil so that everyone hates them, then we can send out witch hunts and burn them at the stake for not believing in our religion blah blah blah
2) One of my would be best friends decided that because I didn't believe in HER religion I had been misguided by the devil, who she knows I don't believe in and she drenched me in "holy water"
3) if you go far enough back in history, which most Christians don't they actually said to the Pagans that their two religions were alike so thy might as well all worship as one. Pagans all thought yes sure why not because back then Pagans did not suspect anyone of anything that did
not show on the outside so they were all tricked. Finally Now many Pagans, Wiccans and witches are openly ridiculed and criticised because of what the church says. They say that we should all go to hell and burn, the majority of the population believes them. In New Zealand one can't openly call her/himself a witch/Wicca or pagan because if they do they are immediately classified as evil and Wicca is not about manipulation at all. Which I'm sure you disagree with me so I won't bother explaining. you could always get in touch if you wanted to.

It uses threats {going to hell} to keep it's adherents in line.
The bible is written by human beings and every human has bias; and because human beings did the writing you have contradictions due to people seeing things from different perspectives.
I do not believe Jesus of Nazareth is the son of a deity and should be venerated as such.
That for the most part it takes an attitude of disregard to science.

There is no proof that Christ actually lived.
The bible was written by man and is full of contridictions, and things that have been proved otherwise by modern science.
It has been used as a way to control the masses to inflict suffering on the world, today and in the past.
The old testament is based mythology and fables.

It's fiction. I also do not believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa or the tooth fairy. The bible is nothing other than a guidebook for the weak. Read and interpret as you wish to fit your personal situation. I take strength from my own free will, not because some book of symbolic stories tells me to.

Too many details. Not that it makes is automatically false, but the more human debates you insist on, the more chance you'll come up with something in error.

Christian doctrine goes on for miles and miles - and pages and pages. How can anyone human KNOW all that? Somebody sure is giving themself a lot of credit!

I've read the entire bible and even if I were convinced that it was all true, I don't think that I would subscribe to any of the major organized religions. It is so painfully obvious that they have ulterior motives. Perhaps the motives are as benign and simple as community building but its still out of touch with the bible.

Again?
* The bible is full of contradictions
* When you look at the beliefs in god(s) over the past 5,000 years, how do you point to one man or one one belief and say "But THAT'S the real one!"
* The bible shows a god perfectly willing to slaughter millions of innocent lives including babies (read your OT)
* I don't beleive in ANY god much less xianity.
