My depression comes from worrying about the future, and regretting the past, and also worrying about what other people think of me. I am retraining myself now to just enjoy today, and not rush into tomorrow nor get caught up in the past. I'm just trying to be the best ME that I can be, and screw what other people expect from me. It's hard work.

I also stopped drinking (24 days alcohol free today!), I'm taking Zoloft, I go to at least one support meeting every day (AA, and also depression support), I also go to an outpatient program three days a week. On top of that, I have been trying to eat and sleep better, and I have gotten back into my exercise routine, and I take my vitamins every day. I walk one hour a day, and workout with weights each day for about a half hour. I set aside time each day to read the bible, and also other books for enjoyment. I also look for an opportunity each day to help or encourage someone else, or just be useful to others, even if it's the smallest little thing, and not expecting a reward. Above all, I have been doing a lot of praying.

Recovery is a full time job for me. I have decided to enjoy it, even though a lot of things suck right now. But I know that if I do the right things, it won't get worse, and can only get better. Or at least, if it gets worse, it won't be due to anything foolish that I'VE done...

Time DOES help to heal you, but only if you make good choices and do the work to get better.

That is good that your depression is relieved that easily. Sometimes depression can be caused by a situation and other times it can be a brain chemical imballance. Sometimes it can be both. It can take counselling and medication to help. A great deal of people need medication to relieve the symptoms and that is okay. It helps people get back to normal lives. I can save many lives. You are correct that exercise and friends are important. Eating too much or too little are sympotoms or depression as are sleeping too much or too little. It is important to reach out to doctors counsellors, family teachers and religious organizations when you feel really bad. People are there to help you find your way. The worst thing is not to get help. Depression can be very dangerous if not treated. It can lead to death. It does not have to because there are doctors and medications that help. People can get back to their normal lives with them. Please do not forget that if exercise and friends do not help enough.

I am depressed because I have been looking for employment for months and haven't found a job. I make me feel worthless and devalued. I am unable to live up to my obligations and control just the simple things in life. It seems that others avoid me and I am on a island by myself. The other side of the coin is to work a crimmy job that works on your dignity as well. I am suffering and it is wearing me down to look for tomorrow.

U MA NOT NECESSSARIL EXERCISE OR BE WITH UR FRIENDS....
U CAN RELIEVE FROM IT THROUGH A SIMPLE TECHNIQUE....
TAKE A DEEP BREATH THEN BREATHE OUT....REPEAT IT 4-5 TIMES...THEN MAKE BREATHING FASTER...REPEAT 4-5 TIMES...THEN COME BACK TO THE PRESENT....WHAT U R ACTALL SUPPOSED TO DO AT THIS VERY MOMENT...THEN DO IT WITH 100% COMMITMENT........ALL UR DEPPRESSIVE THOUGHTS MELTS AWAY...
