She has problems with her joints and it is raining outside today. She has just followed me from room to room lying down in every room I stop in, this is not her normal behavior as being a typical Rottweiler she is very independant.
She has recently recovered from an Addisonian Crisis (Addison's Disease) that made her very sick and during her recovery she started following me around. I have not seen this behavior again until today with the weather,.....
Has anyone else experienced this with a sick dog?

I dont need to take her to the vet, with her Addisons Disease she gets her blood tested every month and we are full aware of all of her problems which is why she gets extra Glucosamine and Chondroitin on top of what is supplied in her senior food.
The problem is arthiritis in her left hip and the rain cause that to get worse.
My question was not should I take her to the vet, She started following me around AFTER her medication made her feel better,
My question was how many other ppl's dogs follow them around?

Yes, it depends on the dog. My male will follow me around constantly if he is not feeling well or has been hurt. Even after he is feeling better he continues to do so for a while. He trusts me to fix whatever it is that is bothering him, and then is thankful that I took care of him. I think he really appreciates the added attention and affection, makes him feel secure.

no count what breed this dogs is, you haven't any theory of his previous experience. that throughout the time of itself is a huge caution signal, no matter if that is a Pittie or a Poodlette. It does sound as if he has some extreme subject matters about being left on my own, and the undesirable guy is terrified - i'd suspect that he were in a collection concern the position he replaced into possibly by no skill left on my own beforehand. Above and previous inspite of his previous history has been, he's of an age even as dogs commence to mature and get hormones - and compete with others round them. inspite of if he weren't a rescue dogs, and no count what breed, he ought to *by no skill* be left on my own with a 6 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous newborn. EVER. even as rescued dogs should be staggering and sweet, and Pitties can make large pets, any dogs it somewhat is frightened should be an somewhat risky dogs interior the incorrect concern. the actual undeniable actuality that you recognize there are questions is the very definition of questionable...as in iffy. Please have him neutered right now for his own protection, and then somewhat actual, i'd contact a sturdy bully breed rescue and ask for help rehoming him with an experienced adopter that doesn't have small little ones. there is not something about this concern which could make me imagine it replaced right into a sturdy theory, and that has not something to do which includes his breed. Your first duty is for your newborn, and that i see this as a foul project waiting to take position. not purely will a baby (or you) in all likelihood be bitten, even if the dogs will lose any possibility he has at arising right into a strong puppy. you've instincts for a reason - please, please hear to them.

Yes, very normal. Your dog is comforted by your presence. Mine follow me a lot even when they are not sick, I am their leader and they will follow me everywhere.
But, if one becomes ill, the need to be near me all the time is greater. Sometimes that is the first indication that they are not well.
Good luck with your sick Rottie.

She's hurting and she wants help and comfort. Ask your vet about putting her on glucosamine and chondroitin and Rimadyl for her pain.

yeah, usually they're trying to "tell" you something is wrong. might want to get her to the vet just to be safe. mne always follows me around whenever he needs to tinkle or drop a deuce. other than that, never bothers me.

Because you are "Mommy" and she feels bad and wants you to do something about it. My dog follows me everywhere, sick or not.
