Peel back the husks of the corn without removing them. Remove the silks and recover the corn with the husk. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes. Remove from water and shake off excess. Place the corn on the grill, close lid and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Unwrap corn and brush with the garlic butter.

GARLIC BUTTER:
2 sticks unsalted butter, slightly softened
8 cloves garlic, peeled and coarsely chopped
1/4 habanero pepper, seeded
1/4 bunch fresh chives
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Combine butter, garlic, habanero, and chives in a food processor and process until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside until ready to use. Recipe courtesy Bobby Flay/Boy Meets Grill @ Food Network

Grilled Corn On The Cob & Beer
Add grilled corn to your list of summer vacation or picnic traditions. This is a recipe everyone will be glad to help you with!! Husk, soak, and grill the corn in anticipation of its sweet, smoky flavor.
4-6 fresh ears of corn
12 pack of your favorite beer
1 bag ice
2 tablespoons margarine or butter
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon snipped fresh thyme, or
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
4-6

1. Peel husks back, but do not remove.
2. Using a stiff brush or your fingers, remove silk from corn.
3. Pull husks back up around corn.
4. In an ice chest, cover corn (husks on) with 12 pack of beer.
5. Then cover with bag of ice.
6. Soak for at least 1 hour.
7. Drink the beer.
8. Pull corn from cooler shaking corn to remove excess water.
9. Cover corn as much as possible with husks.
10. If necessary, tie the tips of the husks together with wet kitchen string.
11. Grill corn (with husks) on an uncovered grill directly over medium-hot coals about 25 minutes or until tender, turning several times.
12. Carefully remove the husks and strings.

14. Heat on the grill or stovetop until margarine is melted.
15. Brush mixture over the corn before serving.

corn on the cob, husks intact
butter
herbs
PREPARATION:
DO NOT REMOVE HUSKS. Do remove the silk. Soak in water for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from water and pull down husks carefully -- DO NOT REMOVE -- and coat with herbal butter (made from adding your favorite fresh herbs to softened butter). Put the husks back up covering the corn and tie with a thin piece of husk at the top. Place on grill for about 15 minutes, turning.

When we grill corn on the barbecue--we peel the husks and silk off. Then we wet a paper towel. We put one corn cob on each paper towel. Roll the corn in the paper towel, then roll that in a piece of foil. Place on BBQ and cook for about 15-20 minutes. They taste great!

Wrep them in foil shaped like canoe.
Put near edge of grill (no direct flame, but still very hot)
Pour as much water as possible(maybe 1 cup) into the canoe
Give at least 15 min (depending on heat)
Almost impossible to overcook this way
Add water if needed

You can leave them alone for 1/2 hr. while you cook your other items.
Leaving the husks on, contaminates your other items on the grill and takes up space.

do not remove any part of the husks... take ears of corn and soak in water (weigh them down if u have to) soak for as long as u can.... remove from water and put on grill husks and all..... on middle or top shelf of grill closed lid turning corn as needed....husk will start to turn charbroil. when husks r completely dry and start to turn black they r done. the best and way to cook corn as far as i am concerned... I know this sounds odd but it's incredible. After grilling (using any of the above methods) set out extra melted butter to brush on as well as lime wedges, hot sauce (tabasco or other), grated parmesan and salt. The combination is incredible. Just squeeze and shake! Promise me you'll try it and let me know what you think. It's always a huge hit when I throw a BBQ. It's spicy and fun......
