I'm looking for a laptop that's pretty cheap and I don't know where to find one! I've been to Circuit city, ebay, Walmart, Amazon, and a whole bunch of other places!!! I don't want to pay over 450 dollars for one, and I don't want a used on either, because of course, they're probably bad. I also want it to have word and paint on it, so software but I don't need the internet on it either. Any suggestions? Please, I need all the help I can get!!!

Used laptops are not neccessarily bad ... people and businesses replace them and sell the old ones. Many of the laptops sold on ebay, esp those by power sellers, are refurbished, reconditioined computers (and they will say so if they are).

I have had great fortune getting laptops on ebay for a low price.
Also, I got one for my daughter free on the local freecycle board. It was an older toshiba, but perfect for her needs as a college student.

I would prefer to go with a good used computer for $300 than a brand new one (if you could even find one) for $450, because the latter would be a piece of junk, and the former might just be an older relaly good brand.

Used is not bad by anymeans, It all boils down to careful inspection and knowing what you are buying. I buy used all the time, saves me money and usually allows me to buy someting I could not of otherwise afforded. When it comes to computers you really have to know what your looking for and AT. most "cheap" computers are just that - cheap and a complete waste of money. You will cheat yourself if you look at the money aspect. Get on the internet and check out some reviews on diffrent laptops, then hit e-bay again! Best of luck.

It would be pretty hard to find a laptop for less than 450. I can only think of ebay. I don't think you can find a new laptop for less than 600 minimum.

There are many tech type of people who can build one for you - with new parts. Look in the classified section of the newspaper. My husband does this type of work.
