I have a cat Oscar and when I offered her a ball of string and a toy mouse she didn't seem to bother much but when I was changing she attacked my belt and since then whenever she sees a belt, she'd play with it, before she attacked my sock when I was tidying, and when I was watching TV Oscar was making a racket upstairs and when I went up there she'd somehow managed to wrap herself in a bundle of toilet roll! Since then they've been all she plays with! Now, I've never had a cat that weird before!

I'll let her have the belt and the socks and maybe the toilet paper but she's starting to get out of control, maybe next she'll take a shine to my head!

No, not weird at all. Mine attacks socks, pot holders, and rolls of paper towels.

you know, each cat has a different personality.. wouldn't it be boring if they were all the same and did the same thing? its almost like people, we each have different interests... so you're cat is just a bit different and has different interests.... she's still being an animal, though, playing with stuff.... you know, people tend to want what they can't have, and i guess that's the same with your cat here.... she can have the ball of string and the toy mouse, but you don't want her to have to belt or socks... well anyway, i guess you could buy a cheap belt or something and let her gnaw it away.. i dunno, but to tell you the truth, i'm not much of a cat person, but i do know quite a bit about animals.. i've had dogs and hamsters for pets, and we've watched chinchillas and gerbils for other people while they're on vacation... anyway, to answer your question, its not weird.. it's just more unique, and the cat is still a cat... don't worry, she's not an alien or anything from mars... so just have fun and train her so she knows what she can or can't have, and when she gets into stuff you don't what her to have, then punish her... maybe its not fun, but its how you train animals... good luck!!!

no not weird, it happens more often then you might think.

but you should stop it, or it will get out of control. and you won't have any belts and socks and toilet paper.

make sure she doesn't have access to those things and provide her with alot of toys. i got my cat a laser beam pen and when i turn it on she just runs after it like it's a real pray. cats love that.

another advice, i would consider bringing her a cat friend, that way she will have someone to play with and leave your clothing and toilet stuff alone. the monthly cost if actually about the same as having one cat. the only thing you add is another vaccination once a year and if you got a kitten then having him spayed at the right age(about six montes more or less)

no. the cat is not weird! all animals have personalities, just like us and all animals are different again just like us. Your cat simply prefers belts, socks and toilet rolls as toys. I knew a cat that didn't chase birds, it chased worms and my cat likes having a bath and chases large dogs down the drive but won't go near the road because he doesn't like the noise.

My cat, Tony, runs out of the house just to play, "catch me if you can". he will let me get really close and reach down to pick him up then dart 10 yards away. yesterday, I was chasing him around the driveway for 10 minutes. The only way I prevailed was when it started to rain and he wanted to return indoors. he loves the game.

Believe it or not, it isn't weird! Just because she's a cat, doesn't mean that she has to play with mice and string, she can play with other things too. My cat plays with my dad's boots when he's trying to put them on for work, he likes to play with the vines that we have up on our curio cabinet, he likes to play with my homework, pens and pencils, he likes to play with my dog, and he likes to play with us when we're in the shower or bath. I have a weird cat . . .

my cats like tinfoil balls and Q-tips. i thought that was strange, but i guess as long as they are happy and not making a complete mess it doesn't make a difference what they like to play with.
