It's ironic.
If you are truly Pro-Life then you DO NOT support the death penalty. But most people who are Pro-Life are Republicans and they are also often Pro-Death Penalty. The are mis-characterizing themselves. They are Anti-Abortion and should say that instead. (It doesn't sound noble enough tho does it?) Most people start throwing around terms without really knowing what they are saying. I was raised Catholic and it wasn't until my senior year of High School that actually read all the stuff Catholics believe and realized I disagreed with more than half of it. I think there are a lot of people like that. They claim a religion because of their family but don't really know anything other than what they say at church on Sunday. People say Pro-Life thinking they are only referring to abortion but the term applies to all life. To be Pro-Life you can't agree with assisted suicide for the terminally ill, the death penalty, euthanasia, or abortion.
I am mostly Pro-Life. I can see some very extreme cases where the death penalty or abortion should at least be considered (life of the mother type things or terrorists w/ no hope of reform).

Death penalty is the end result of pro-life. Pro-lifers would rather force a woman to have a child and have that resentment passed along to the child. Child grows up unloved and unwanted, turns to crime, and so on. Pro-lifers prefer to wait for a child to grow up and commit crime before killing it.

Have had this discussion with a friend of mine several times. He uses the same....a fetus is an innocent human life and a harden criminal has made their own choices...argument. I tell him that isn't the point. I ask him if he believes the words of the bible. He says 'of course'. Well the bible says thou shall not kill, it doesn't give any conditions but on the same token the bible is also full of either god killing of god ordering others to kill in his name. Hence I can see why devote christians are so confused on this issue. The commandment, thou shall not kill, seems very black and white to me so if you claim to believe the bible as the word of god how can you be so contradictory. I guess it is like 99% of the christians I know most pick and choose what in the bible they want to follow and what they choose to ignore.

i say, death penalty all well and good, but if theres new dna evidence, let the persons appeal be heard

of course, this dna thing, when they say the fetus is life, they are concerned, but they dont have concern for the mitocondrial dna that might set an inncent man free from death row

There is a BIG difference between an innocent life (baby) and a person who is bent on the destruction or molestation of people in society
This really is a no brainer!

First of all it's a misconception that the Bible says "Do not kill." It says "Do not murder." The Bible clearly teaches that murder is wrong, but allows killing in the case of capital punishment.
See Genesis 9:5-6

And the argument that an unborn baby is innocent vs. a convicted murder is a correct argument.

I do, on a limited basis. I see no inconsistency between standing for innocent life and fatally judging the most guilty of violent offenders.

Can't you tell the difference between an innocent baby, and, say,a serial murderer?Since when did society have to protect itself from an unborn baby?Your question is plainly idiotic.

absolutely.

the difference between a murderer and an unborn child is innocence. one of them doesn't even have the chance to take a breath, while the other has taken robbed someone of their breath.
