As a dietitian, I can tell you that many people want the answers to this question. There are 2 parts to losing weight and fat mass:
1. Exercise. The body reserves different fuels for different kinds of physical activity. When you are doing aerobic (or cardio) exercises, you are not burning a lot of fat, but you are strengthening your cardiovascular system. When you do longer, sustained exercises, the body begins to burn fat. Usually, the body starts using fat as a fuel after 20 minutes of activity. Therefore, doing a low-impact exercise for 30 minutes or more will achieve the greatest fat loss. Walking is probably the most well-known example for this because it is low-impact and you can walk for quite some time before getting very tired. Lifting weights will exercise and tone the muscle tissues, but not burn excess fat. For the waistline area: begin a routine of some low-impact exercise that is comfortable for you. Aim at exercising 20 minutes or more for several days each week. Then do some exercises to tone the abdominal muscles (again, whatever is most comfortable for you- sit ups, etc...)
2. Diet and Nutrition
To use up extra fat stored in the body, you must reduce the amount of fat you take in via the diet. Otherwise, you'll burn some fat via exercise, but then replace it with the cheeseburger or icecream you ate afterwards. Reducing the calories and fat you consume will achieve overall weight loss. Eat a balanced diet. There are no forbidden foods, just foods to eat less often. Get several servings each day of whole grains with lots of fiber, fruits and vegetables. Limit dressings, cream and cheese sauces, oils, butters, etc... Try leaner meats and reduce fried foods in the diet. Replace packaged snack foods with fresh fruits or vegetables, or a whole grain product, like a bagel. Watch your portion sizes...keep them small. Don't go back for seconds unless you still feel truly hungry.
These are just some tips I tell my patients. Good luck!

1. Eat about 6 small complete meals throughout the day (Grains, protein, fruits, vegetables) spaced out about every 2-3 hours. DO NOT BINGE EAT! 2. Be as active as you can. Nothing to do for 10 minutes? Knockout 10 elevated push ups. 3. Eat some spicy foods, take a lot of vitamin C, and drink between a half gallon and a whole gallon of WATER a day. 4. No more soda. Ever. 5. If you do drink coffee, drink it black. 6. Do at least 35 minutes of cardio straight at least once a day, at least three times a week, more if you are not trying to put on muscle. 7. Do a large amount of full body exercises whenever possible (Pull-ups, Chin ups, dips, squats, power cleans) 8. Get at least 6 hours of sleep a night, but no more then 9. 9. Avoid anything deepfried, white bread, sprinkles, and any refined sugar.

Diet and exercise will first slim your waistline, which is great. People who want to lose fat on their butt, hips, thighs, have a harder time. As to what foods and exercise? You know it, low cal, and quality food. No more sugar, no more pastry, cookies, chocolate, and white starch, nothing fried. Exercise, cardio 3 times a week for a half hour and toning 3 times a week for a half hour (good old fashion calisthenics). And the key detail: persistence.

It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way you have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Plus click on "Pure Water" to make sure the water you drink doesn't hurt you. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

you can't target just one area of your body for fat loss (i.e. do crunches to lose fat on your abs) Fat tends to come off the body somewhat uniform although everyone has "trouble spots"
As far as loosing fat, I suggest getting in cardio {running, stairs, bike anything that has your heart rate in a rang of (depending on age) of 125-190 beats per minute}
I would suggest doing the cardio in the morning on an EMPTY STOMACH its when your body has the least amount of fuel in it so its FORCED to burn FAT. also get your carbs in early in the day such as toast and jelly or fruits, and eat fewer carbs as the day ends (beef, poultry, fish, veggies)
Try to do atleast 25-30 mins of cardio a day (get your heart rate to your target heart rate for fat burning (find out what yours is based on age and weight)), try to do it on an empty stomach.
Stay away from sweets.

if you eat alot of fish yugart salads this is what i do i twist back and forth when i stand there. if i am playing with my kids i put my children on my lower part of my legs and left up and sit up at the same time. the will help the mid section. if you flex your butt while you set or lay down that will help your butt be lefted.for your inner theighs and hips you can get one of the soft kckballs and put it between your legs and press for your hips you can lay on your side and left the leg and and pull back hold for a count of 20 and do 20 at a time and the same with the other side. i do my husbands weight and lost plan and toneing and shaping exerices. it works for me and he had to do this for a class
