I think it was defiantly a bad way to get the point across!

Fighting should be the last resort!

I grew up (until 13/14 yrs) in the projects.
I am now 35 y/o and have been working out on an average of 5 days a week for a little over 20 yrs. I have been studying martial arts for 12/13 yrs. (black belt/ kempo) I'm 5'11" tall and weigh around 210 lbs... Needless to say that if I cut loose, somebody is getting hurt... I have gay dudes hitting on me all the time... I look at it as a compliment...

These guys don't know you and are judging you by looks only! I haven't met anyone that gets mad when someone thinks they look hot. If you a big enough man, you will be able to look at it this way...

Try not to beet up the fags!

well from what i can see no one has actually answeres the question of "what does being gay feel like" instead they have been focusing on you hitting this poor guy.
i am gay so i know how this feels first hand, i am very catious when i approach a guy, i usually get to know the guy and try to figure out his sexuality before i say or do anything.
imagine being in a world that tells you you are wrong for what you cant change and did not chooose, you have no true way of decideing who the people are that feel the way you do without showing the ones you are interested in someway that you are interested, and then getting beat because of it.
what you did, unfortunatly, is kind of a common response and absolutly wrong. people have asked would you do that to a woman, i ask how would you feel if a woman did it to you if you hit a woman and she just flat out punched you?
we can not determine if a guy might be gay unless we sdvertise to them, and most of us will back off if the guy says no.

Just remember how you reacted before you go "holla" at girls. Everyone appreciates polite social interaction to being punched. But seriously - did the "holla" hurt you any? Most mature straight guys would take it as a compliment, maybe joke about it later. No big deal.

What would you have done if it was a female you weren't interested in?

Assuming you woudn't punch her in the jaw...

You reacted out of fear, no matter what your reason. You can still be a "man" and deal with it in a better way. It doesn't make you less of a man to just say you're not interested and that, sorry, you don't swing that way. Trust me, the guy's going to get the hint, just like a female would. And honestly, just because a man makes a pass at you doesn't automatically mean he thinks you're gay, it just means he thinks your attractive. Take it as a compliment and move on. Most gay men have better taste in men than a lot of women do.

Gay people aren't out to get you. They're not any different when it comes to the dating game and flirting. They are not going to force themselves on you, and if you treat one with respect the "gayness" isn't going to rub off on you.

Depends. If the next time you hit on a woman and she kicks you in the groin you think it's a good way to send the message!

very very very very bad response. If a woman came up to you and you weren't interested, would you punch her? Probably not. You should have calmly told him that you weren't interested. You could have made a friend. Now you can be arrested(and should)
to centerion: thats a stupid joke. Newaflash, straits get aids too.

well... each individuals have their own right to choose to be straight or not. so by you punching that poor guy is kinda of wrong. however, on the another hand perhaps he was too persistant with you so u cannot handle him and juz punched him like he so deserved it.

Um, why did you hit him? You should respond the same way you would to a heterosexual flirt that you aren't interested in.
As for how it feels to be gay- I guess it would feel pretty queer.
