I think i did something in Control Panel.

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Open Folder Options
3. Select General tab
4. Under Click Items As Follows, select Double-Click To Open An Item
5. Click OK

Reopen your Folder Options control panel and select the "Double-click to open an item (single-click to select)" radio button within the "Click items as follows" field. Click the control panel's OK button and things will return to normal.

One way (might not work if you messed up using the tool panel) is to open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and pick Tools/Folder Options. On the General tab, select "double click to open an item".
