Lot of good responses here. If america where to go to war with Korea it would be more a stalemate. Korea is not like the little countries we pick on today in the middle east. They actually do have a pretty decently funded army, small airforce, are prepared for war and are very well dug in the country. I have been to korea many times and it is a very scary place. They say in just the first day of battle there would be over 200,000 american casualities. Almost every military base in korea is completely surrounded by dug in korean army so in the first stages of battle many americans already stationed there would die. No Korea doesnt have the army, the money, or the technology to ever win against the US or even stage a country attack. But, at the same time there is no way to win a war against a country like Korea. It would just be another Vietnam. We would fight for years and the public would eventually be against the way due to our loses of lives and money and we would pull out of the fight and lick our wounds. An assualt on a country like Korea to flush out the enemy wouldnt work. America wins by its technology and weapons. Works great in desert countres such as Iraq where if we have artillary that can shoot three times as far as the enemy and weapons far superior to what they have we should always win. A country like korea would take a different style of fighting. All the technology and weapons we have are almost useless in an environment like Korea. It would end up like Vietnam lots of foot soldiers doing patrols flushing the army out. Cant use any heavy vechicles or aircraft in such a wooded rain forest like place with an army prepared, knows the land better than we do, and ready for us. So in the end we would pull out lick our wounds, call it a victory on TV for the PR ratings and come home with neither side really winning.

Hahaha no bloody way would America win...There are over 1million TRAINED troops in Korea to start with...Do you really think they are that far bahind technology wise? Geeeze its this arrogance by Americans that causes most of the problems around the world to start with. If I put a map of the world with no countries names on it infront of most of the Americans I met when over there,99% wouldnt be able to even tell me where Australia was. I dont dislike Americans but the general level of blind patriotism is astounding. Hanging onto this myth that America won the second world war is half the problem. America let the war go on for years before getting involved.By the time America got involved the Germans were sending in 16-17 yo kids to fight and Hitler had broken his alliance with Stalin and the Russians were taking care of them there. It was a world war FFS not America vs the world.Do you think the Aussies, poms, greeks, french, russians etc were just sitting around while the American soldiers did all the work.Take a look at the 2 countries your fighting now, against enemies armed with sticks and stones, geeeze thats going well for you isnt it? America Got completly owned by people using booby traps and second hand AK47's in Vietnam, how the hell does anyone think America would win?And whats to say when the first nuke gets dropped on America,Russia and China dont also take the opportunity to let some go afer the initial damage is done...Please dont take this as an attack an Americans as I met some fantastic intelligent and very nice people over there but god damn there were also alot of people that think their army can just walk all over any country they want..Peace

No. Nobody can Win a war of nuclelar exchanges.
Nuclear war is not winnable. North Korea can easily deploy a rocket or a suitcase nuke.
The U.S. is really an economy drawn between some lines on a map. The fabric of it is consumer confidence and participation.
A nuclear war destroys that.
Finally, the U.S. cannot occupy North Korea, we would get our azzes waxed and run out of youthful men.
In short... no.

If the US took a very aggressive response to an attack from N. Korea, like a nuclear reprisal...then sure. We could no doubt wipe them out in cold war fashion. Man for man...we probably could not, however. N. Korea is a said to have an infantry in excess of one million soldiers. We do not have that mass. But the question is...Could they mobilize them to use them effectively? A war would not be fought on our soil. If we decided that taking and occupying North Korea was not needed, then the nuclear option is feasable...not desireable, however.

First off all I would run If I was an American...
Nuclear wars aren't fun I guess.....
America would or is ready for A nuclear war ... As soon NK is sending one nuclear missile to the US... the US is sending 10 back on the right places....I think that If it comes to a war... It will cost a lot of Innocent harms and If it comes to a nuclear war.... Nk would get destroyed... but also America would get a lot of harms...

Did the Americans really win the recent wars? Or are they still fighting till this moment? They could not win hands-down.

yes, the US will win but will pay a great price in human lives, i strongly urge the US to use diplomacy but if that doesn't work then war is inevitable, rogue countries like north korea or iran shud never be allowed to have WMD
