This is a tough question cause I have been a teen, hating that my parents were so controlling, but too now as a parent of toddlers and older I have nightmares about when my children "fall in love"with someone, will I trust the other "child" will i want them kissing, which quickly leads elsewhere, will I be freaked out when they take off driving and are feeling each other up in the car and the car drives off the road, these are all things that I worry about. I have been a parent not long and I was a teenager not long ago. But parents are scared and they have been protective of their children for so long it is hard to let go, and the teens have been trying to gain Independence for a long time ever since they came out of the womb, that is a very volatile situation, COMMUNICATION is the key, keep the lines open and gain trust and parents can back off a little and mane their precious offspring and the other person that they will trust.

I think teenagers have a knack for messy relationships. It depends on the nature of being a teen.
You know, probably are teen relationships causing all those problems in parent relationships, keeping track of teenager heartaches stresses out whoever is over 21.

No , please do not be confuse yourself. Parents are worried about your immature teen relationship especially the naive `puppy' love or immature sex relationship. It will cause a lot of emotional problems and social problem for themselves and the society.
I must agree that some parents are over-protective but all parents love their own flesh and blood dearly. Wait until you become parent one day, then you will understand my words.

Frankly, teens cause all their own problems in their relationship. If teens would stop thinging they knew it all and listened to parents, it might save them a whole lot of heart ache and all the mistakes they make.

It depends on whether or not your parents approve of your relationship. But I think that it's the people in the relationship that cause most of their own problems.

No. Most of the problems are caused by the teens themselves. They can be immature and moody.

no, i believe fully from experience that it is teenagers who cause all the problems in the parent child relationship. teenagers think they are the boss and think they know everything, but they know nothing about the world around them.
