Hi there.

I have been in a relationship with this girl for about 5 months now. Sex is great, we joke around a lot. Everything seems ok.. Except there is one huge issue. I don't think she respects me. She still keeps in contact with one of her ex-boyfriends.. Now this would normally be cool, but he still loves her. Top it off with the fact she cheated on him, this dude is a total sap. That said I really do not feel comfortable with them conversing. In my prior relationships I knew about and met the ex's. I was totally cool with them being friends as either A. they were married, or B. had moved on.. This guy that was dating my current gf has NOT moved on.

Top it off with the fact that she flirts like crazy, it just drives me insane. I tell her that it bothers me, and she keeps doing it anyway. Now, I am not jealous or anything like that.. It just seems like she does not respect me. We do live together, and today I brought it up again and she just yawns. Is she just inconsiderate?

Sounds like a bad situation. I would speak with her about it and see what she says. If you haven't met this guy, and she avoids introducing you to him, then I would say to move on bro. You'll just be putting yourself up for headaches, arguments and problems you don't need.

There are too many other women out there to choose from.

What's your question?

You have already asked your gf to do something, and she's not going to do it. What else can you do?

Put down an ultimatum...she'll either respect you and the relationship, or she'll accuse you of being controlling and leave.

I personally think your request is a reasonable one. She has no business flirting and talking a lot to an ex who hasn't moved on. It's just not right.

Some people will tell you to lighten up, some will say she's a whore...but it all depends on if you think your opinion is a valid one. She will not change until you give her a reason to...like an ultimatum.

Stick with your guns.

(PS - this is a sign for future problems, btw. She thinks of herself and immediate needs over you or the relationship)

I would say you need to either A. Run like hell or B. Keep your eyes open and decide what you want from this woman. If you want to continue to enjoy the good sex, then stay. If you want to build a serious relationship, it takes 2 and that number doesn't include her ex-boyfriend.

babe, walk to the door and kick her *** out. She knows what the issue is in your relationship she is sooo not willing to fix it so can you honestly see a future with that? I mean how do you honestly know that the first big fight yall have she won't go messing around with him cuz you were "mean to her". Trust me it happens. Not that I personally have done it but I know people that have. I would say she is completly disrespectful of your relationship,

hi there. your gf doesn't respect you, you're right. but more so, she is very much in to herself. by disregarding your concerns, in hooking up with the ex and flirting with others, and she's cheated before, it doesn't make for a trusting or safe situation. she wants all the attention and she's unwilling to share some of that with you by addressing you properly. btw, good for you for putting your concerns out there to her.

She is selfish and does not care about your feeling...if the shoe was on the other foot, you can bet your sweet booty that she would be all over you like flies on a manure pile to STOP....
