It funny many times, but other times it is disturbing. It reveals that racism is alive and well in this country. Even after all the education on the issue, we still resort to our old ways.

It's not fun to debate the polarized "Kool Aid" crowd who are knee-jerk inflexible.
The illegals in the country are a complex problem not easily solved.
Simple solutions involve trampling on our civil rights as citizens.
Example: How does one ID, with certainty, someone is illegally here? How they look? I can pass for a darned handsome Hispanic, Italian, Mid-Easten, etc.
Were someone to approach me and demand "papers," I'd show 'em my furry rosy-red butt. The American attitude at its finest.
SS isn't easy either. It's been tried but shot down by the courts as an invasion of privacy.
The Constitution protects our rights pretty darned well. There are groups everywhere that jump all over any possible violations.
So the illegal residents and employers are exploiting an actual defense and protection of our rights. Sounds weird but that is the case.
In my view, the Constitution would rather have unlawful activity continue rather than impede on unalienable rights of the citizens.
That's what makes it so hard to repair.
This is great:Rec Kid: "This is basically Yahoo!'s panem et circenses without the panem, but with excellent circenses. Just enjoy the show."
I feel guilty about not paying admission....

As someone who has absolutely no interest on the issue itself, I can say that this is one of the most interesting forums on Y!A. It's like a really nasty FOX channel reality show with a lot of people you never thought even existed for real. There are some few smart and reasonable people here (e.g. DAR, who usually makes strong and balanced points) however, I´ve observed that most people who do make sense get dismayed with the lack of intellectual honesty (or ability) and eventually give up. If you are looking for deep and thought provoking views, you will have to look hard to find them here, but will find some. Basically this is Yahoo!'s panem et circenses without the panem, but with excellent circenses. Just enjoy the show.
Thanks Capt Jack! I needed only a little push to be flying and that was one hell of a boost.

Sweeping out the corners is great ... but what I find rather disturbing is how how the pro illegals seem to go by "feeling" rather than logic .... I have asked for, and have yet to see, a site posted by the pro illegal lobby that categorically proves that illegal aliens are good for the country and for the American people ... all I hear is opinions, which of course is good and healthy, but wouldn't it be great if we could see these opinions backed up from time to time with some facts?

I think it's fun to piss off the pro criminal crowd. It is just too easy. Criminals aren't that smart.
