We live in a house with big garden. Our guard dog is female and used do be by herself. We are not going out of the garden with her. The landlord just moved back and brought yesterday his female adult dog. We had to chain both of them, cause of barking madly at eachother. What can we do to bring them together?? We are a bit affraid, that if we let them loose, they will start a huge fight. our dog is a streetdog and the other one a rotweiler. hope to get some tips and ideas!!

The way to do this is on neutral ground. Dogs are territorial, and your dog is going to try and defend what she perceives as hers. Arrange to take the two dogs to a local park separately, and have them meet each other there. If there's no part in the vicinity, even the sidewalk down the street will do.
It pretty much goes without saying that both dogs need to be on leashes.

Dogs should meet on neutral turf - a park, or maybe the beach, where neither one feels like it needs to protect its territory. I've had more than one dog at a time and this was always the best way to introduce the two. When they got along outside the house, we'd walk them back together. Maybe you can get your landlord to agree to this - it will be better than the two dogs barking all night!. Just remember - even if they like each other when they're somewhere else there's always a period of adjustment once they come home, so be patient.

A good way is to put the new dog in a cage and let them get use to each others smells first before putting them together.

keep your dogs on a good leash. bring them close enough to sniff noses ,but no closer. hopfully it will work. like people sometimes we agree to disagree. and choose not to be friends.

they will get together when it is right for them and they are comfortable with each other..let their noses touch each other from a distance though.. keep them both on a leash.. let them gradually sniff each other do this until they are comforable with one another. foxi
