The highest scoring ace of the Battle of Britain was Oberleutnant Helmut Wick of 42 I. /JG 2 with a combat score of 42, before being killed in November 1940.

The highest combat score by an RAF pilot is 21 by Pilot Officer Eric Lock of 41 Squadron (according to Wikipedia. But the second link that I've included states 16.5 [scroll down to blue table]). The Czech pilot Sgt. J. Frantiseck of 303 (Polish) Sqn had the highest combat score of the multinationals, with 17 aircraft shot down. He was killed in action during the battle.

The allied figures are subject to debate, as the Royal Air Force kept no official record of individual tallies, and various sources give widely varying figures and accounts.
