I dont' think the price has changed much since then, although I remember when I was a kid quite a few years back and we had a milk man, a pint of milk in an actual glass bottle cost 11pence.

In the UK, a pint of milk cost around 21p if bought in 3 gallon catering bulk boxes, 22-23p in the supermarkets, and around 25p from the corner shop. Delivered by your local milkman it could cost 26-27p. Just consider what the farmer/producers got for their milk - around 4p per pint. All the rest went in processing and middlemen.

I found the price of ½ gallon (4 pints) of whole milk was about $1.45 in 1995 ($1.93 adjusted for inflation). Divide by 4 and you get 0.36¢ per pint (0.48¢ in today's ¢'s)

Cow's milk? Gold top? Homogenised? Pasturised? Semi-skimmed?
