okay...this might be something only a professional should try lol. But, I had this problem often in two of my vehicles. Number 1 being a 200 WS6 Trans Am, just so you know this is a common problem in these vehicles, we replaced the window motor probably 3 times. Number 2 1994 Ford Explorer...I took it to my mechanic, he took off my door panel (fairly easy, you just need a screw driver) and he hit the metal lining with a hammer while pressing the up button (my window was down), it kicked right into gear and worked for about 3 months. When it happened again i took off the door panel, hit it with a hammer (not too hard, you have to feel out the right spot) and it started working again. By the way I could hear the motor whining also on the explorer. Hope I helped!

On a Ford, if you hear the motor running, either the window regulator broke (as some use a cable to operate the window now, or as said elsewhere the plastic bushings in the motor broke... Looks to be mechanic time

NO on fuse. on fords they have little round plastic pieces inside the electric motor and over time they crack and split. I have in the past several times taken nuts the same size as the plastic an rounded them on a grinder. works great. some of the motors are a nightmare to get to but it shouldn,t be bad in a pickup

Inside the window motor is 3 plastic round pins that will sheer time to time. You can find the replacement pins at the parts store.

Not the fuse, because then, you would'nt hear noise. He needs to remove the door panel, and examine what's causing the jam. It's usually something simple, but, something else could be broken.

Depending on the model, it sounds like the motor is stripped

Maybe he has the window lock on! I do the same thing to my wife in my Mercedes.

Or is that just what he's telling you, so he can get the windows foggy... jk, it could be a window lock.
