I think the Bush govt is doing the right in Iraq by not pulling out, if they pull out the govt is not strong enough to tackle the terrorist and Iraq might degenerate to a civil war with futher loss of lives and then everybody will continue blaming america, some might even say america shud come back to finish what it has started there, i see a peaceful well organised democratic iraq in the next 5 - 10 yrs or more but i strongly reject the idea of pulling out now, its too early, we have to give the govt time to strenghten themselves and in the meantime we shud continue hunting down the terrorist and weaken them greatly. Also i strongly believe that the Iran and maybe some other arab nations are sponsoring terrorism in iraq so that america will have their hands full for the meantime while they develope their WMD, cos they might suspect that if the iraq war is over the next point of call would be their country.

Iraq will prevail, and when the oil starts to move, they'll be well-off; that is, if the Saudi money-maggots don't try to queer the effort.
Things were dreadful right here in our own USA when the British left. Took awhile for citizens of a free country to get the picture.
They most indisputably are NOT stupid people

It would have been better if the coalition had never gone in.

Even though it had a sadistic dictator, it was stable; there was no risk of civil war; people didn't die on the streets every day and they owned their own oil.

And whenever we leave, be it tomorrow of ten years time, the country will collapse into civil war, a dictator will rise and nothing will have been achieved at the expense of thousands of lives.

Its very simple. All of the Middle east has been doing this nonsense since time began. tribes and religion. Just like all of this going on in Africa. Tribes and religion. It'll never stop. It'll never be "won". You'll never have peace in those regions and finally....who gives a damn about giving anymore democracy. Some people don't want it. Some do. Majority rules in most cases. In some..."that guy" or "those guys" rule.
I have democracy. I like it. You want some? get lost! Go get your own! This is mine.

How do you define winning? On how many live or die?
We have toppled Sadamm Husein and his reign
We have set up a government.
Slowly but surely we are getting the terrorists and it's a matter of time until we get them all including Osama himslef.
And remember when Bush does something we get the results
same with them.. they wind up paying for what their leader did.
all's fair in love and war, I guess.

Yes, I don't know that there is a way of winning. I think our best course of action is to pull out. I don't think the killing of civilians will stop but it may slow down.

Not only are we losing in Iraq but Afghanistan is heading south and now our master (sorry, I meant ally) in the mid-East is dragging us into another loss.

yes, you are winning and have to win the battle even though it take time to reach. You could not bow down to the terrorist.
