fall asleep for a few minutes, or maybe an hour. that way you can give your metabolism a chance to "set things straight" while you're sleeping. then get up, drink something not too sugary... you should start burping then.

I honestly get this sometimes when I drink a carbonated beverage. I have even gone to the emergency room for it. It is true that trying some stuff like tums or mylanta helps but not always. It is also true that you can drink hot water to help but I found the best solution is to try to find which side is better to lay on (left or right) or even flat - as long as you are comfortable. Then take the one you like most like mylanta or maalox and put a heating pad on your tummy or on your back - which ever hurts more and rub your tummy in a counter clockwise motion. You can also keep adjusting your position and the gas will begin to pass and you will slowly begin to feel better. Liquid over the counter remedies in extra strength seem to help faster. I hope this helps you and I hope you have gotten some relief by now.

consult a doctor who knows if it might be serious dont be stupid. Call him now. Not the emergency line i guess cause you will only cause them trouble. If you are in pain for example just call. And dont overpush your burb you might hurt something.
P.s. If the bubble is in the lungs then you have breathed coke .... so you really should
go to the hospital. Lungs is where the air goes when you breathe, the "place" where the food goes is the stomach. Liquid in lungs = dangerous , a reason to "visit" a hospital

Short answer you can't - burps come from the stomach --
A burp, sometimes called a belch, is nothing but air escaping from the stomach. When you eat or drink, you don't just swallow food or liquids. You also swallow air at the same time.
The medical term for a burp or belch is "Eructation."
Dictionaries describe eructation as "the voiding or getting rid of gas or of a small quantity of acid fluid from the stomach through the mouth."

Actually you may have had a bleb on your lung that burst. These are bubbles that form on the lung and then pop putting an air pocket between your chest wall and lung. Small pockets will just be absorbed into your system after awhile. Larger pockets require medical attention. If you can't lay down or walk without pain I would seek medical attention...

#1 - Go to emergency room RIGHT AWAY. You may have a life-threatening form of ignorance.
#2 - NEVER drink Coke again. You are allergic.
#3 - Read a medical encyclopedia. Coke goes into the stomach NOT the lungs.

First, instead of calling someone names that fit yourself better, try paying attention to Rita R. and Shawn C. Of all the answers, those were the only two that dealt with your problem.
Second if you are having that much pain and are having breathing problems, you quite possibly have an embolism or are having a heart attack and need to get to the emergency room of your local hospital ASAP.

The first thing you need to do is stay calm. The "bubble" won't hurt you...its your retardation that concerns me. Run full speed into a solid-core door. This may not dislodge any coke embolism, but maybe it'll knock some sense into you.

have someone hit you in the chest extremely hard. This should force a considerable amount of air out of your lungs thus allowing the burp to escape. If it doesnt work have them hit you in the stomach.
