I totally 100% disagree with this because of the overpopulation in this world of unwanted pets. my dog and 2 cats are spayed/neutered. and I also don't believe that a female will become friendly if she has a one litter. my cat was spayed at 6 months and she is such a sweetheart. what do ya'll think about this? oh and nobody mention the overpopulation of people in this world because that is a completly different topic to me.

Cats and dogs do not need to have a litter. In fact it increases their chances of having problems. I have never understood why people think that... or refusing to get their male neutered.
Both animals and both genders can be fixed at 6 months.

Unless a person is going to be a breeder, people should get their animals fixed as soon as possible. Although even a breeder should know what they are doing, and know they will be able to get their puppies into good homes. Too many dogs and cats are unwanted. They wind up in shelters, getting run over, or homeless.

People complain that shelters are cruel, they put animals to sleep yet let their dogs and cats have puppies and kittens when they could be getting people to adopt an animal from the shelter.

My animals are all neutered or spayed. They are friendly sweet and none are fat or lazy, other than during the 100+ degree weather.

I am by no means an expert but having worked in a veterinary clinic in the past, I can tell you there is no reason for an animal to have a litter before they are spayed/neutered. Most are healthier if they are spayed/neutered early on. Having a litter too young is not good for them either, and that can happen easily once they go into heat.

I agree with you on the over population problem, and 6 months is the best time to spay/neuter. I've done the same with all my animals. Though, female dogs that do not get spayed early enough and do not have a litter are more likely to develop mastitis (lumps in their breasts) when they get old.

Half agree and half disagree. If every single cat was fixed soon there will be no more way in the fututer and it's not fair for them because they don't get a voice on it. I think the world is over run with to many people. If people didn't care only about themselves and started building houses where animals live and started killing animals that used to live them before the ****ing people came and left nothing for them, the stray animals would have a forest, meadow, swamp, and a place where they can live, they can hunt and there will be no problem.

well two things:
one: yes the world is over populated with cats and dogs. i believe you should spay your dog and cat if you are a regular person wanting to adopt a pet. but if your a registered breeder (and most registered breeders know what they are doing) then sure they actually know what they are doing. some people want to adopt pure breed cats/dogs we shouldn't deny them of that but it should be supervised and in most countries it is.
my dog got spayed, so is my cat and i make sure each of my foster kittens will get spayed too when they turn six montes.

two: i want to add something on the human thing. i'm a great believer in adoption. especially of kids who are no longer babies they deserve a good home too. if i'll ever get marry and will chose that i want kids(which i don't right now) i'm not sure i will want to give birth(maybe just one baby) i know that just about all the kids i may have will be older kids.

You are correct. They don't need to have a litter. It just makes it easier on the person having the neutering or spaying done. It eases their conscience. The animals life a long healthy life without emotional side effects, when done early.

i had both of my kittens spayed as soon as they were old enough. i don't think it changes their personality either way. there are way too many animals in this world without homes and i think the responsible owner will have their pet spayed/neutered before they have a litter.

Were I live spaying/nuetering is a requiremt to even be able to get a dog/cat from a vet or shelter. We have a pit he id the greatest (nuetered) with our six kids. We had a cook apoo not spayed. She attacked one of our kids and was so aggressive to our pit he was scared to eat. ( She no longer resides here) You do the math.

I agree! It is way better to get your pet neutered or spayed before they become sexually mature. Otherwise your tom cat will continue to spray urine and your female cat will have phantom pregnancies. We found our momma cat when she was already pregnant and had her spayed as soon as possible. We also had her two kittens fixed :]
