LOL. I have a min pin. crate the dog while traveling, and stop every few hours to let him/her out and do #1/#2. dont give in to the dogs whine's and fussing. you MUST let the dog know that you are the one in control. if you understand canine mentality, you must let the dog know that you are the ALPHA!!

Put him in a cage and sing to him, that way he doesn't whine. If he does then you have a problem. JoKe.. you already have good answers....if i can add, just try not to forget about the less essential stuff. like a pooper scooper, air freshner, blanket, a toy for him.. i assume he's a boy. you should enjoy it, im sure your min pin would too. You can complain as much as you want.. he'll look at you and the best part is he dooesnt complain back

Crate and frequent stops with dog on leash. Introduce dog to crate gradually first, put a treat in it, make it short times and put a favorite toy in there for the trip, but no water or food.

If you mean "minimum pain", then I would suggest stopping every couple of hours for about five minutes to stretch & do other things. Keep changing the position of the driver's seat, and do lots of stretching even while you're driving.

First and foremost I would suggest dont leave your dog alone in your car, mine destroyed my air mattress because I left her in the car to go get breakfast. just make sure when you stop for gas you let it out for a short walk and if your going to feed it do it an hour before you get on the road just to prevent car sickness.

Of course frequent stops, but if you are worried about him being unhappy, it is perfectly acceptable to give your dog dramamine. It sounds wierd, but you can ask your vet the amount to give. You use children's dramamine. It worked great for me, and I drove for 30 hours.
